Thread: Are bands required to say 'Coachella' ?

Default Are bands required to say 'Coachella' ?

Every single band/group yelled out 'Coachella' 4+ times....it may be all in fun, but it got me wondering if they are required to do so....

I can see why festival organizers would want the bands to do so....publicity and constant reminder....maybe it's all in fun, but every single group did it.

Perhaps. I also think it just makes more sense to address the crowd by the name of the festival, rather than "Indio!" or "Southern California!"

Hey Coachella, I'm having an argument with my DJ. He says the left side of the audience is louder, and I say it's the right side...

No...A Perfect Circle as evidence. I was thinking this same thing. It wasn't long ago that not a single band ever did

Didn't Maynard simply address the crowd as "hippies" for Tool in 2006? Also, most bands at some point on stage at any given city/festival seem to address the crowd by said city or festival.

Even Maynard said something like hello/hey Coachella during APC weekend 2 but it was really subdued and anti-hype.

Yup, pretty sure that's what he said.

Jack White called the crowd "California" w1 and "Coachella" w2. I liked the change.

Hey, if race car drivers do it and politicians should, it isn't that big of a deal if they do!

    I miss talking to TomAz.

We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
