    Default Going too hard

So this might turn into a funny thread.
Ive been going to Coachella since 2011, my first years as a 17 and 18 year old were all good. My years as a 19 and 20 year old were rough. When I was 19 I was trying to impress then first-timers I was with by drinking a ton (why? Because 19, that's why), I ended up in the medical tent puking my brains out all night, before I got there, security found me face first in my own puke in a port-o-potty (gross). Then the next year I suffered from really bad heat stroke and dehydration, also ended up in the med tent, this time with an IV in my arm, had to miss the next day because I was so weak. This is not to brag, but to laugh at how stupid I was. I can now say as a 24 year old going to her 8th Coachella, that I know my limits and I know to stay hydrated.
Anyone else have some stories about going a bit too hard at Coachella? I'd love to hear about them

I've had good memories, bad memories and no memories from going too hard. I regret not remembering some of the bands I looked forward to seeing and payed to see. I ultimately had to change the company I was with so I could control myself and because it's no fun babysitting a drunk that you feel responsible for instead of enjoying the music. And it's no fun getting lost at the end of the night.

I'm still up for a well timed high though but like you said, learn your limits.

Over medicating an missing a set you really wanted to see is not worth it. I'm with flowbee, figure out what gets you good and STOP THERE.

In 2013, I made it to a record 39 sets. I could barely walk the next day. After a few days of no relief, I went to the doctor who sent me to two months of physical therapy. I try to keep it under 30 now.
Even though I look like one, I'm not a cop.

broke the cardinal rule of not going too hard for festivals last year at ACL weekend one, went JAMON on Day 1, drank about an 18-pack of lone star and had a few whiskey shots before I got to the festival. Kept drinking Coors tallboys and vodka the entire time. Blacked Out hardcore. Only memories are waiting in line to enter the fest and the very beginning and very ending of Jay-Z who closed the fest....

I meant to put that I split the 18-pack, so had 9 beers plus some whiskey before entering fest, then keep it going inside....still a shitload of alcohol. and I'm far from that size, only 130lbs and zero of it is fat.

Not a personal story, but about three years ago my girlfriend saved someone from horrible burns. People were jumping over a bonfire (because of course) and one guy had no business walking near a bonfire took a running start and ate it right into the coals. She gator rolled him out before I even know what was happening, but what could have been a really bad situation just gets to be a funny story.

Bottom line: to sleep-xanax, percs, beers, melatonin, etc.
To wake: coke, beer, speed, etc.
    Do. what. You. Must

I already told about my experience last year. I "went hard" on 3 hits of acid, WITHOUT having a place to stay afterwards. This was on Friday. I got to see everyone I wanted to, high on acid (except only caught last song or two of FJM). And let me tell you Radiohead had some whacked out druggy music on before they started so I was having all sorts of auditory "experiences," let's say. And of course Radiohead was the best thing ever and the most magical experience, but AFTERWARD. My God I was stumbling around toward the exit, people kept whispering "wristbands? anyone want to sell your wristbands?" which was tripping me out. The scalpers were good, like they were aiming for the druggie freaks like me. I probably should have sold my wristband at that point, actually. I finally made it to the parking lot which was super far away from the entrance, and I could not remember where my car was, I could not SEE clearly because I was having all sorts of visual hallucinations, and I kept pressing my key alarm button but could not hear my car horn beep back to me either. It was a nightmare. I was wandering around the parking lot for about 2 or 3 hours. I encountered a golf cart early on and got golf cart guy to transport me to another parking lot for 20 bucks but still did not find it. I asked people clearing up the parking lot, but they only spoke Spanish. (???!!!) Finally some guy tried to translate to another Spanish speaking guy what I was looking for, and they could not figure out where it was. eventually just as the sun was rising up and it was starting to get super hot, I FOUND IT. I was so relieved. I called my daughter and told her what happened. Yes, I know she's traumatized and my existence constantly traumatizes her -- SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU INGRATES. I managed to drive myself out of the lot, even though visual hallucinations were still going strong. I suddenly felt like I needed to eat something so I managed to drive over to a Starbucks. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE IN INDIO? Yes I realized later, of course, it's somewhat near the Mexico border so there are Mexicans there. I bought some fruit at Starbucks and tried to fix myself up in the bathroom. I looked awful of course. VIP Makeup Tent makeup glitter was all over my face and whatever else was streaking down. Fruit was not enough food for me, so I drove on out to the 10, and when I was almost to the 10, I saw a subway and stopped there for a sandwich. I ordered a sndwich, mumbling and muttering about how I needed to eat. I'm like a crazy person on drugs at the Subway because I literally AM A CRAZY PeRSON who IS ALSO ON DRUGS. So I paid for the sandwich and threw up all over the floor. I saw the cashier and the manager exchange glances, and I was thinking ohmygod, this is when I get thrown out of Subway for being a drugged up idiot. But I did not. They gave me my sandwich and I left peacefully with them whispering about me as I left. So embarrassing. So then I carefully drive across the street to the gas station and filled up my tank. At this point, I think I was going into my paypal money. More on that later. So I got onto the 10 and drove very carefully at the speed limit, STRAIGHT for a couple hours until I got to Blythe (YAY BLYTHe!), and I crashed at the Motel 6 (I think). My room had a bunch of beetle-y bugs on the floor, but at that point, I didn't give a shit and went to bed. And I gave up. I didn't go back to Coachella because I was so drained , even though I had spent $900 (sort of) on my VIP ticket and was looking forward to both Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar (and everyone else of course). THe enD.
    I miss talking to TomAz.

We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
