Default Pregnant and going to Coachella

    Hey everyone!!

When I first purchased my Coachella 2018 tickets + car camp, I was not pregnant. I was contemplating on going when I first found out that I am and I decided to wait until the lineup dropped to make my decision on going or not. And well, since it dropped... I've decided to go! I have a car camping spot, would it be a good idea to continue with that if I bring an air mattress? Thank you

And if you've ever went to Coachella while pregnant, I'd love for some advice!

I'd say yes, but everyone is different, I enjoy my air mattress when I go solo, yet my girlfriend despises it when we go and prefers to sleep on the ground, It also might depend on how far along you are when the festival hits

You might even make the art cut if you're willing to preform a live birth, hell you might even outshine Beyoncé

I went to Coachella 7 months pregnant, but I didn't camp.

My friend lost her baby while car camping at Coachella in 2017. It was pretty horrific. Depending on how hot it is that week, just remember that you have no real break from either uncomfortably hot or cold temperatures when you camp, and bathrooms and food/water can sometimes be a serious hike, so unless you pack in gallons of water, and the temperature is comfortable, I just wouldn't risk it.

    That's horrible, Natasha.

2017 W2 was one of the hottest Coachella's on record.

No chance my pregnant wife would ever do it if we were car camping (shes car camped i think 5 times). Possibly if she was <5 months and we had an AC somewhere. Luckily this weekend will be parents first big weekend out!

So sorry to hear the loss of your friends baby. How far along was she? I’ll be 29 weeks...

I was fine. Like I said, I didn't camp though. I didn't get on the polo field until later in the day, rested plenty in the shade, drank lots of water, and actually fell asleep near the back of the Sahara in the middle of Prodigy. Of course, this was also 2005 when things were a little less crowded.

I will trade you my passes w/ a shuttle for your passes w/ car camping. Seems like it could help both of us out.

I would totally take this deal. Problem now is that I have to look for a hotel & hotel prices are CRAZY expensive right now

All good, no rush. Due to....things, I will not be getting a hotel/airbnb this year so I am looking to camp and would gladly trade my passes to you. Feel free to drop me a PM here or find me on IG (same as my screen-name here) if you want to stay in contact. I will hold them for you in the event you secure a hotel or something.

Edit: I guess I should mention my passes are Weekend 1.

Get a camper van instead of tenting it. It's a lot easier on someone being in one of them. Here's the ones I've used for Coachella Car Camping

https://www.jucyusa.com/ - I used them once and they were cheaper than the other option, especially after I found them through Groupon. I prefer them over the Escape.

https://www.escapecampervans.com/ - I've used them twice. They're a little more clunky but the artwork on the outside is cooler than a billboard on wheels.

Drink plenty of water with electrolytes, rest, know your limits and don’t push them. I’m a midwife, going w2 and car camping, I’ll be there for ya if you need anything! If you’re in good shape and healthy you’ll be fine. Hydration is #1.

Me too! Will be 19weeks and car camping that weekend! I'm planning to stay super hydrated and towards the back of all the crowds. It's definitely the camping portion that makes me slightly uneasy.

i would suggest not camping if you're pregnant. days are hot. nights are cold. camping is fun as hell, but if you're doing this sober and preggo, i would advise against it.

one of my good friends went to coachella on sunday only last year (about 5 months pregnant) and it was a mission for her. don't see how you could do it while camping.

I'm in the same boat as you girl! I'll be 19 weeks during the second weekend and I also bought my camping passes prior to being pregnant. I'm taking like a blow up couch that folds out to be a bed as well. I am hoping for the best but Natasha's post kinda makes me uneasy....

I’d recommend getting a hotel. Prices have come down quite a bit, not sure how many’s in your group. Airbnb’s have dropped as well. Personally I wouldn’t do one of the camper van conversions either.
