Default Tell Us About 2018 Releases

This thread hasn't been started yet? This place really is dead.

    Anyway, new Jeff Rosenstock.

Justin Timberlake thinks he's Stapleton or Isbell:

    Happy New Year.

Still hungover from NYE, yeyeah! haha

Anyways right off the top of my head, I can't wait for Ty Segall's new album later this month...Always delivers the goods:

Im very intrigued by this Justin Timberlake sound. Love seeing him returning to the studio with Pharrell and trying something new.

2-1 Never washed his own car, erm, truck before
8-1 Doesn't know how to change a tire
    20-1 Slept outside on ground

but, yeah, should be a heartfelt campfire strummin banger 2018 crossover horse friendly (s)hit!

Damn it... I'm pretty disappointed in this new BORNS album. Was really looking forward to it after his first album, but it's not clicking for me. Not even close to Dopamine imo. smh.

Kind of like The xx last year, I have a feeling this will be a January release that will still fall very high on my year end list. What an incredible debut.

Always been a sucker for W.K., and I can't wait to see how his first proper album in over a decade turns out:

Here's the preview single from The Shacks' debut album, Haze. It's super chill, dream pop awesomeness...Check it:

Ty Segall once again knocks it out of the park. He's his most varied on this one in terms of style of execution. The last track includes a more bluesy version of the Sleeper track from the same album of 2013. He's probably one of my favorite artist's and although he releases a new album each year, he never seems to run out of ideas. Definitely gonna be a top 10 of 2018.

First Aid Kit, Ruins - Ok album, about the same as Stay Gold, definitely not as good as The Lion's Roar imo. Hope we get more old stuff from them when they preform this year.

Moon Taxi, Let the Record Play - Been a fan of them since they preformed at Coachella a couple of years ago, but this album doesn't do it for me. Think they got away from the sound that made me like them on their last few albums.

Ron Gallo, Really Nice Guys - Short EP. Gave it a quick listen and nothing really stood out for me, but I still like his sound. One of the bottom lines I'm looking forward to this year.

    .
They're great live, whichever songs they perform. New album is lovely in parts, but isn't quite doing it for me yet.

Upcoming album from Jorge Elbrecht (Here Lies) seems pretty awesome so far, which will be released on February 28, 2018...Here's the title track that came out yesterday featuring Tamaryn:

New UMO single is the shiiiiiiit...Loving the dirty fuzzed guitar riffs and lo-fi return. Hoping their new album is more of the same, and that it drops sooner than later

    Check it:

Yesterday saw the release of the 1st single and title track off of Holy Wave's upcoming third album, Adult Fear. It's nothing too different from what the band has done in the past, but that's fine with me...Check it:

Man, this probably isn't news but the new Timberlake is not good. He sounds like he'd rather be acting. Because he probably would rather be acting.

It's so bad. I mean I'm not really a fan of his music to begin with, but the whole concept of the album with "man of the woods" but him still putting out the same BS pop crap was weird.

So the new U.S. Girls album is another gem from Remy (unsurprisingly)... I'm digging the new Rhye album, Blood, as well. It's perfect to listen to as I work away in my office.

So far this year my faves have been:
Porches - The House. LOVE. It's more electronic than their previous one.
Django Django - Marble Skies. Found out about them through the lineup and am enjoying their new album. A bit reminiscent of Yeasayer, Jagwar Ma and Cut Copy.
    Ty Segall - Freedom's Goblin

The Timberlake album is HILARIOUSLY TERRIBLE OMG.

I'm not a big MGMT fan anyway, but this new album of theirs isn't good. They really waited 5 years to put that out?

MGMT has been wallowing in mediocrity for a long ass time now...Nothing new.

I thought after a long layoff they might come back with something fresh and new. Guess not.
