Did we get any repeats this year? I think no, right?

Yeah, I think the only repeats this year were Do LaB surprises like Louis the Child, Skrillex, and Rufus.

But wasn't there some beef with Eddie Vedder and GV? Thought I remember hearing PJ wouldn't play at Coachella for some reason.

The only thing I ever remember hearing is that Paul T said something along the lines of not wanting to book PJ because the field would just be full of PJ fans (they do have a scary huge dedicated fanbase) - but they've done several other festivals, presumably with no issues, so yeah. I think PJ's manager is on record somewhere saying they will play Coachella, someday.

It is rare and on my last back to back years attending Coachella, 2007-2008, Hot Chip did a back to back.

I really hope we get Lana Del Ray as our female Sunday night sub. After Florence and Sia, I love this on a fragile Sunday evening. Was very disapointed that Lorde got the spot this year. Here is hoping for a return to some real women.

If their next album is as good as their previous two, I would say they could be 3rd or dare I say, sub headline.

Those were largely forgettable albums, and the whole indie folk thing is kinda old news now anyway. No way they sub.

Fucking crazy... those albums were absolutely awesome. Saying that "indie folk is kinda old news" or any music for that matter is "old news" is typical hipster BS. Stop worrying about fads, trends, and whats "in" or not.

Yet their songs are still played on the radio from both albums on a regular basis and heard on multiple forms of media. Indie Folk being old news is a hilarious statement. That is like say Hip Hop and Rap is old news, yet there is still people releasing music in that genre. Last I checked Indie Folk music is still being booked at Festivals across the world and gathering large crowds still.

"Indie Folk" has been around since at least Bob Dylan. Just shut the fuck up.

And I'll second the fact that OM&M is excellent. They happen to be one of my 5 year olds favorite bands and I thank her constantly for not choosing something so much worse to play on repeat in the car.

Irrespective of their music's quality, I see little/no reason to bring them back in '18. Even if they've got new music, two years is an awful short period for a band with a big main stage slot to come back.

What about someone like CHVRCHES? I thought they were probably rumored for next year. They however will have new music out by then I believe.

I wasn't responding to them coming back in a 2 year gap, but more just if/when they return they would be higher up with another great album.

Thievery Corp plays fairly often in LA/SD. Would be cool on the Polo Fields, but not too hard to see otherwise.
