    Default New Stage? Sonora Tent

I apologize if this has been posted already. Stumbled across this article which seems to confirm a new stage. The Sonora Tent.

"A new Sonora tent – near the Ferris wheel and the Antarctica – will feature punk, indie and garage rock by mostly emerging bands, including Spanish-language artists."

I think it's "Sonoran" The last "n" connotes the actual desert in which the festival is located. Looking forward to this stage and seeing Quitapenas!
I have been to concerts. I will go to concerts in the future.

My guess is that it sounds better than Sonoran. Plus, Sonora is an actual state in Mexico, so it follows the "latin" theme of the stage (possibly).

Right, who would want the name of their stage to sound like "SNORING"

The name of the desert is "Desierto de Sonora", I think the english translation of "Sonoran Desert" is a bit weird becuase it sounds like they're using it as an adjective. In such case, the name is Spanish would be "Desierto Sonoro". But by using the word "de", it specifically descrbies the desert as being within the "Sonora" region.

There are a few things there I plan on checking out, though I am worried if I am all the way out in the main field and someone I wanna see goes on in the Sonora, that's gonna be quite the jaunt to get back over there. This is the same reason I only went in Despacio like 3 times in 2 weekends last year.

This stage is a game-changer for me. It solves but also likely creates a bunch of conflicts. For a mostly guitar guy like me, this is a great lineup by itself. Here's a Sonora playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/125428...HnVOPSAg5it93P

Anyone have pictures or other info from this stage? Curious what the sound was like and how well attended the sets were.

Only went in once, but it was great. Lots of cool graffiti and art on the walls, air conditioning, couches and chairs, good crowds. Saw QUINTAPENAS at 1 on Saturday to a surprisingly big crowd, multiple conga lines emerged.

Yes, there were couches. Great little venue. Has the feel of a cool little DIY club but with great sound and production. And perhaps best of all, there are portapotties right outside where you can hear the music while you're in them and can be back inside the tent before the song is over. Also, the A/C was a lot stronger if you're standing toward the left of the stage.

The Sonora was amazing. QUITAPENAS was one of my favorite sets of the weekend, and I also saw Shannon and the Clams, Downtown Boys, Guided By Voices, and Los Blenders in there. One of my favorite things to do was leave the campsite early and sit in a bean bag chair in front of the air vents until I needed to go see a set.

I'm sooo bummed that I didn't make it for QUITAPENAS. Los Blenders was awesome. Glad they added more couches in there throughout the weekend. And - best artwork/design I've seen at a festival stage so far I think.
