To play guitar? From what I've ready they've worked together for a long time, and Marr has generally played live with Hans.

Re: Johnny Marr, I'm getting that from this article:

As with Zimmer’s previous shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2014 – and as will be the case throughout the tour – the 58-year-old was joined onstage by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, a collaborator of his on a number of films, including Man of Steel and Inception. There were also more than 70 ferociously talented musicians, each of whom undoubtedly added a layer of muso suss to the well-oiled proficiency of Zimmer and Marr, and helped build the set’s constantly soaring wall of sound.
The vast majority of people at the fest will be familiar with some element of Hans's work. Even if they drop by strictly as a curiosity, it'll get a very strong crowd. And if they put it on the main, with a silent outdoor, sound bleed will not be an issue.

To me, this is like a way fucking cooler version of booking Sigur Ros for the fourth time (in their least appealing setup, in my opinion).

Not going to make it to Coachella this year. Was super surprised to see tickets to the Microsoft Theater show were still available. Scooped a few up. Can't wait to see this.

One of my all time favourite OST pieces period. It was used in the scene where Leo and the dreambros are leaving the airport at the end of the film. THAT is what Johnny Marr is there for. This is gonna be brill.

Now you've got me dreaming of Hans closing the Sahara. I know it sounds ridiculous, but just imagine this performance with scenes from the films playing on those LED screens all over the roof and walls...

I'm not confident the Sahara is even large enough to fit his 70 whatever person orchestra. The main was practically made for a performance like this with those enormous screens. If Zimmer isn't on the Coachella Stage I will literally shit on my own face in disgust.

Look at some of the stages/venues this has played on before. If Hans Zimmer + orchestra can fit in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium I don't understand why tent stages at Coachella wouldn't work.

Wife and I are watching our favorite Hans Zimmer scored films to prep for this.

Just watched Gladiator last night. If they play Honor Him, I'll bawl my little Irish eyes out.

I also rewatched Gladiator for the zillionth time last night and ya that one is by far one of the most emotional Hans Zimmer pieces. Gonna have visions of Maximus holding his burning family and sobbing uncontrollably.

how can you not love Gladiator. The music makes that movie so much better as well. The final scene with his buddy burying the little figurines is amazing. Great dialogue too: "And now we are Free. I will see you again... but not yet... Not yet! "

Cant wait for the song (hopefully)

Are you kidding me? I fucking love it still. A couple of the aspects of it look a little dated (slow-mo close-ups, landscape establishing shots look out of an Enya video), but overall the action scenes are incredible, the music is phenomenal, and the final scene is one of the most moving I've seen in a major film.

Gladiator may be overrated but calling it "garbage" is seriously some Comic Book Guy shit.

Back to the actual Zimmer set, my prediction is that there will be a ton of people there to watch the beginning, but the crowd will drastically thin out after about 10-20 minutes as the average Coachella attendee's attention span is waaaaay too short for an entire hour of this.

I vote Outdoor against a mostly-silent Main. Steely Dan treatment.

Yes, the Comic Book Guy's signature catch phrase "garbage movie."

Good grief. What about it classifies it as garbage beyond mainstream appeal and an Oscar?
