Yea, really hoping people are well-behaved for this set. I just wanna hear some Interstellar organ sounds in peace. Seems unlikely at Coachella.

Yes In fact someone mentioned in the oddball booking thread that he was doing a tour.

^ yeah the average Coachella attendee does not have the attention span for that.

Best case scenario would be counter programming to Kendrick in a tent. I don't know how they would fit his whole orchestra. Maybe with some smart stage design that stacks people to fit. That would probably be the best time to have a crowd that would be there to appreciate his work.

If you don't think that a John Carpenter or Zimmer or Clint Mansell is a welcome addition to a festival world filled with all kinds of other throwaway shite...then you can piss off back to Major Lazer land or G-Eazy world.

I think it's a cool booking. But it also doesn't begin to excuse everything else. That's all.

this is getting me suitably exited for his SF non-festival show.

have we already discussed goldenvoice ignoring their radius clause for this?

I mean, some of you need to listen to yourselves. This is fucking cool. We get you don't love the lineup. We get it's not Primavera. We get that there's a chance it isn't perfectly executed. But of all the hills to die on, acting like this isn't a great booking isn't the one.

Is it a rare booking for Coachella? Sure and I'm happy for all the fellow boardies who will be able to nerd out (hopefully in a good spot). Does it make it a great booking especially when you look at how the rest of the festival is curated? I'm not so sure.

This will probably be one of the best Couch-ella sets to watch for the folks at home..

I am truly interested to see how this plays out and what the crowd will be like.
