Also, I wish I could find NickO's "lol what are you 30?" post. He and Slugworth would be pals.

And pardon me for misreading your "wtf is this BS" as a blanket negative view of country music and not just a personal dislike for Sturgill Simpson. I'd love to hear what country you do like, though, because maybe you're knowledgeable about artists I don't know about yet.
    Exactly.

I do not listen to country, especially pop country, but I respect the artistry and do not hate or make fun of any genres.

I simply asked fellow trap listeners for some suggestions and got a bunch of geezers who listen to country talking shit about a genre I enjoy. If you cant wrap your head around that logic, then please go back to wrapping your lips around another stranger shlong.

Sturgill Simpson isn't pop country. He's mostly the anti-thesis of what's dominated the bro-country airwaves for almost a decade now.

This is one of the many differences between you and I. I do not care what people on a fucking internet forum for a music festival think of me.

Then why the fuck do you get upset when people on an internet forum mock your taste in music?

Slugworth's philosophy is simple: all genres of music should be respected and appreciated, but if you're over 25 you should not go to festivals to do so.

Dont know where you got 25, but no.

Its time to stop going to coachella when you bitch about "the times are a'changin' i tell ya", "those damn kids in the sahara doin their drugs and sex dances...mumble mumble", "you listen to music i dislike? you listen to new genres of music i dont like? you dont enjoy country or old bands that i love? WELL YOU CAN GO FUCK YERSELF THIS IS MURRRRRICA".

I love the 60 year old people at coachella at an EDM show or checking out some other genre that is more modern or out of the norm, having a great time. But I cant STAND people like Guy In Tucson who bitch about everything and cant handle people having different opinions.

Related - Merle Haggard actually invented trap music.

Yep you got it, Slugworth, because we don't like shitty trap and EDM and other shitty "new genres" we are old and out of touch. It has nothing to do with the fact that it's commercial manufactured mass produced industry planted lowest common denominator garbage. Fact is, these people you're arguing with could school your ass in terms of knowledge and appreciation of new genres and styles of music, if i'm remembering right Guyintuscon actually is less of a music snob and has more pop-friendy tastes than a lot of the regulars here - so you've picked a fight with the wrong person.

The funny thing is that I really do not like the vast majority of country music out there. I do happen to enjoy a bit of bluegrass, alt country, americana, southern rock; all of which have ties to the country genre.

What I personally take umbrage with are hypocritical dickwads like yourself. You were clearly upset at various points when you were mocked for your taste in music. Welcome to the fucking board, it happens to everyone.

Also, if you had any real knowledge on my opinion regarding the evolution of Coachella, you'd realize that I'm probably one of the most forgiving long time attendees out of the old crotchety fucks that post here. It has nothing to do with my supposed disgust with the gradual alteration of the festival or different genres and more do my distaste for just about everything you post.

You pretend like you don't care about what people say here, but you're clearly full of shit.

Wasn't GuyInTucson one of the few board regulars who WASN'T bitching about this year's lineup when it first came out? I distinctly remember him being way less of a bitch about the lineup this year than a lot of others.

Or, to put it another way, Slugworth is full of shit.

I dont see how ANYONE could give a fuck about what people on an internet forum think of them, that is absolutely ridiculous. Whats even more ridiculous are people like you that mock other people for liking a genre of music. And that is the point of all of this. You talk down to people like myself for liking a genre like trap, but when I say the slightest thing about Homer Simpson or Tad Terjgay, you shit yourself.

I will argue with you about knowledge/appreciation of music till your ass bleeds, fuck boy.

Man, nobody here ever learns to play nice.

I can't fucking wait to see this set. It's in my top 10 sets I'm looking forward to and I had never heard of him before the lineup. It's like psych-country at times. Makes we wonder how many non-pop country acts doing interesting things I'm completely unaware of. There must be plenty. Country has such a stigma attached to it it's hard for country artists to reach outside the country bubble. Lost count how many times I've heard someone describe their musical tastes as "I like everything but country"

This is exactly the kind of set I like starting days out with. I hope he's on super early in the gobi like James Vincent McMorrow was.

I didn't mock you because you like trap. I mock you because your abhorrent taste in music is amplified by how much of a raging fucking tool you are.

Also, "Terjgay"? Really? Is that what you consider witty and humorous?

I guarantee you that besides some of the electronic music I will be seeing, our lists of bands are pretty close.

And Terjgay was fuckin funny, dont lie.
