    Default Sturgill Simpson

You're all a bunch of fucking assholes for not making a thread for this dude. Whiskey is a necessity for this set.

He was one of my top hopefuls for ANY festival I'm attending this year. I was very fucking pleased to see him on the lineup.

He and his band are so good live. I'll be seeing them at Stagecoach but am hoping they aren't conflicting with anyone else crucial at Coachella.

I was kind of hoping for an early(ish) Gobi set a la Frank Turner last year. Definite daytime music, but I just can't always enjoy a set to it's full potential in that direct sunlight.

Listened to him with a predisposition to dislike just because he's country. That voice and his music have so much soul that I'm now really looking forward to his set.

I think they accidentally put this guy at coachella rather than stagecoach.

He's not the first to play both Coachella and Stagecoach and hopefully won't be the last. Given the quality of Stagecoach this year I would welcome even more crossover. Newsflash: not every single artist playing fits your narrow-minded definition of what's cool enough to brag to your friends about.

Hey, whiskey, white lines, and a slide guitar aren't for everyone. Apparently not for alt-J tatted trap loving bros, it seems.

I was already liking this guy based on research and then Gueditas review of his live show in that other thread made me even more excited. This should be a really fun afternoon set.
Let's go on a livin' spree!

Oh and I love how I get flamed for disliking a genre and the people flaming me dislike certain genres I may like hahaha.

Another classic double standard brought to you by the geezers roaming the coachella forums.

What? It went the other way around, you dummy. You got mad that people dared to make fun of your trap predilection because "hey bro, genres for everyone!" and then summarily began to diss on country, you boob. The only thing I'm interested in flaming your for is your rampant idiocy, because I think it's safe enough to assume that you know jack shit nothing about the influence country has had on the genres of music you actively enjoy. Your beloved alt-J is directly influenced by folk and bluegrass fingerpickin', for example.

hahaha thats the best part. please find one remark made by me that is even close to a diss on country music. please. try. no please keep trying. dont give up, I believe in you.

What if I told you that not only do I appreciate every musician/songwriter that has walked this planet, but that I actually enjoy a lot of country music? I also like trap music, and disco, and soul, and house, and metal, and every single other genre in the book. because I am a musician and a music fan, I may not enjoy listening to certain songs or artists, but I respect and appreciate their art.

i literally made a JOKE about this guy getting mixed up with the stagecoach lineup, and then learned that hes actually playing both. so please, PLEASE show me where I ripped apart country music and shat on our country at the same time while being a tatted up trap bro.

Sometimes you have to just learn to shut your fucking mouth, and your legs, bitch. Carry on.

Well, you just did a better job of insulting yourself than any of us ever could. You just claimed to APPRECIATE Bon Jovi and to RESPECT his "art."

We don't flame you for liking a specific genre. We flame you because your selections from specific genres are atrociously awful.

I could say the same thing about genres/bands that you like. Do you not realize the irony of that? You dumb fucking middle aged loser that lives on an internet forum for an event that he shouldve out grown years ago.

    Go fuck yourself.

Right, pardon me for misreading this as dismissive of both country music and the people who enjoy it:

And pardon me for misreading your "wtf is this BS" as a blanket negative view of country music and not just a personal dislike for Sturgill Simpson. I'd love to hear what country you do like, though, because maybe you're knowledgeable about artists I don't know about yet.

Yet, here you are, right here debating with a middle aged loser. Your future does not bode well, considering you have posted waaaaay more than I did when I first joined the board.

Slugworth once told me, "I bet you like country" or something like that. Flat out insinuating that listening to any country is a bad thing.
