Not elaborate, and not even obnoxious. Gold wooden crown, huge gold chain my friend was going to let me borrow that he wore for moby last year, and this fun aquablue cape. I was putting finishing touches on it all when I realized I couldn't go anymore. I was totally going to bedazzle the shit out of it.
edit: just reread and saw you aren't going anymore...that's a bummer.
Nas, Diddy, and Busta didn't get the memo about Fitchella I guess.
I think doing Illmatic in whole with a few singles at the end made the set. Illmatic is an essential album and even if most of the people in the crowd aren't familiar, it has a great flow to it and introduces them to what great hip hop used to be.
Would be extremely unpopular as a headlining set but Outkast would have been better off doing Aquemni (their essential album) in full with a few singles at the end as well.
Started playing catch up from yesterday's and dancing while watching the awesome Pet Shop Boys set. One of the things I dislike / hate at Coachella, I am probably one of the few dancing there on this set. for fuck sake people are just standing there like dead trees. Not even swaying! Yeah, they cheer after each song whatever. Too hip and too cool for some Coachella dancing.
^ I think even a person on a wheel chair on more lively / atmospheric festival setting or a person in a semi-coma watching Suburbia will break out dancing during "Let's take a ride ...". Come on, Coachella! It is time! If you are too cool and you cannot even move a muscle in your head, why even bother being at a dancing set.
To be fair, I have had amazing dancing experiences with the hipsters of Coachella even outside the tents when they were overflowing with crowd already.
There are like less than 10 (almost everyone in front), slightly into the groove. This will not happen on set of this kind in other shows/festivals in other continents!

Loved that PSB set --- very fun and dancey and theatrical.
I think everyone hopes for/expects energy and enthusiasm from the crowd during a set like that, but in a festival setting I don't necessarily think that always translates into "dancing". More like what their own version of dancing is in their own heads, hah. Are they not allowed to watch and listen if they're not inclined to dance?
Also, I've watched webcasts in the past where from the feed the crowd seems disinterested, but persons who were there will report very much the contrary. You get little crowd noise from the feed, so I've learned to disregard my impressions of the crowd and just listen to the set.

That Nas set appeared to be life changing. Even with the dust and tired crowd he killed it. There's no doubt in my mind that I have to be there for this next weekend rather than going to the Yuma. I wonder what kind of guests, if any, will come out for his set next weekend.
I really enjoyed a lot of the stream last night. Warpaint was solid, Lorde sounded good, QOTSA were great, Nas fucking slayed. Last night I was wondering if any of the people complaining on twitter during Outkast about how shitty the crowd was saw how the crowd was for Nas. Bummed to hear that Darkside started late but I'm not sure how much their set was shortened by. It sounds like the wind put a bit of a damper on a few shows yesterday in regards to the sound, especially in the Mojave. Hopefully that doesn't repeat today.

so today my tv, which has a build in youtube app, decided it isn't going to load the sunday live stream. I tried an alternative approach of loading it on my phone and casting it to my tv and it tells me that my tv does not support live streams. I tried casting it to my chromecast device and it tells me chromecast doesn't support live streams. yet these options were working just fine yesterday. anyone else having trouble? I worked around it by loading it in a web browser on my tv which isn't ideal but works.
has anyone else started having trouble with it today?
