Worst Conflicts?

My gf, brother and I are oddly heartbroken over Chvrches and Bombay Bicycle Club, two acts we thought for sure would not conflict. I was worried about Chvrches conflicting with all the excellent stuff Sat night but took for granted that BBC would play unopposed during the weaker Saturday day. Who's idea was it to put Chvrches and Holy Ghost in the day?

Also sad about the 10 minute or so AF and Disclosure overlap even though I knew it was coming. Overall though I am shockingly pleased with how well these turned out for me. Virtually everything I really care about I can see in full, and all my losses outside of the ones I mentioned above were on my "B" list. I'll have something I'm excited to see in every time slot, these turned out beautifully.

lotta talk about Nicolas Jaar conflicting... He's probably just playing a dj set in the Yuma, and obviously playing live in Darkside. I'd defintitely pick Bonobo or Shlohmo over a Nico DJ set and catch Darkside the next day.

I have to disagree with this. Nico's DJ set is going to be nothing like the DARKSIDE set and both will be amazing. Nothing against Bonobo and Shlomho, both of whom I like quite a bit, but for me, as soon as I saw they added Nico Jaar's DJ set to the lineup, it became a can't miss set. He's that good. See, e.g.,

Saw Holy Ghost at Webster Hall last week. They put on a really lively show and are musically pretty tight. The unfortuntate thing is that it won't be an evening set, as their stage set up plays well in a darker setting.

Poolside Sunday or being actually poolside or actually asleep.

The first time I saw Poolside, when they opened for Twin Shadow, they were pretty disappointing. The singing was rather flat. I went to the bathroom towards the end of the set and the lackluster voices were very noticeable when muffled by the bathroom wall. I saw them again when they played Pop Scene and it was much better. If there isn't anything else on around that time, or after them, then I'd go with staying poolside. Plus they are from California so you'll have plenty of chances to see them.

strfkr on at 2:55 is the only thing I would love to see but being poolside is more important to me.

I really don't know what I'm going to do about Little Dragon & Calvin Harris!!! I know I can find Calvin Harris in Vegas anytime.. But Vegas has a different energy than Coachella. Ughhh what to do.. what to do?! Is anyone else conflicted with this one?

I think a lot of people are overrating how hard it is to get a "good spot" at Coachella. Even for RHCP last year I got there about 10 minutes before the set and was fairly close. For the sets I actually "camped out" for (Postal Service --> the XX --> Phoenix) I was right on the rail by the time Phoenix began. There's just too much walking around and stuff going on to think you're screwed unless you get to a show 45-60 mins early.

Maybe I had a unique experience, but its about 10x better than Bonnaroo in that regard.

a lot of people cleared out sunday because of the sandstorm. i've never seen everything so empty.

that said, things are pretty fluid, and the only time it's hard to get a good spot is for a hyped act in a tent. future islands could be a nightmare.
