Sounds like it'll bomb out.
Sounds like it'll bomb out.
please tell me they won't actually call it Rock in Rio when it's not in Rio.
Maybe it will be at the Rio hotel..just kidding...
The part that pretty much states they will overpay for talent, will probably translate into a high price for tickets.
oddly enough I got an email for a pre-sale for this this morning.
http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/2E...35D2?did=mlifeRock in Rio comes to Las Vegas on May 8-9 and 15-16, 2015. One weekend will be dedicated to rock and the other to pop music.
This cultural phenomenon has redefined the music festival experience by combining huge names in music and massive entertainment options. This legendary festival broke records since 1985 in its first event with 1.38 million attendees five times larger than Woodstock. Today, Rock in Rio has hosted 14 festivals in 3 countries, with more than 7.4 million people attending and 1 billion watching around the world. In 2013, Rock in Rio sold out all 600,000 tickets in an unprecedented four hours.
On a scale that Las Vegas has never seen, Rock in Rio will build a permanent open air venue The City of Rock which will be equipped to receive 85,000 people per day. The festival will feature six stages, streetscapes representing Brazil, U.S.A. and the U.K., a ferris wheel, a zip line and a VIP area.
Ferris wheel, street scapes, VIP area, all of which Vegas already has plenty of. These idiots are seriously installing a permanent installation? They're gonna lose their asses.
MGM already has that semi permanent village across from Luxor where they had the I heart radio day show at.
They are having a concert with a microbrew fest, a country festival, a wine and music festival, etc.
Vegas has gone festival crazy.
$298 for a 2-day festival pass, is this some kind of a joke? I realize anything in Vegas is overpriced but geez...They better book some gigantic names for that price. People aren't gonna pay that kind of dough just because it's in Vegas and has a bunch of toys and a ferris wheel.
Okay it sucks so far, they announced Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Linkin Park and Metallica as the first names.
They also announced Deftones and John Legend.

This is shaping up to be one of the most "cliche" lineups ever...
And they list a bunch more acts on the site I have NEVER heard of..
The more I scroll down through the line up, the less I know..
They added Rise Against, Sepultura, Coheed & Cambria.
The rumor is Stones and Springsteen are a lock, I'll have to see it before I believe it!
Even with those additions, i still dont see myself enjoying this I Heart Radio festival...
Its like THE worst mix of music. And do you pick what weekend you go to? or is the price for both weekends? This could be the biggest cost for a line up ever..
$300 for two days. it would be a fun twist, though, if you ordered passes and didn't find out which weekend the passes were for until you get them. something tells me they're letting you choose which weekend you're traveling to vegas, though.
yeah, what a fucking rip off. And of course you would choose, but 600 for both weekends and the full line up and its only 4 days.... shits wizzzeeeak.
It's already all loaded in Ticketmaster. It's odd, you can pick the weekend you buy the 2 day passes but the VIP tickets only show up as single day either weekend. It's very odd. It looks like nothing is going on sale until January and maybe they will change this by then.
All these weeks and they only added Mana.
