Best picks from the second round?!?!?!?!
Best picks from the second round?!?!?!?!
damn. so many good acts in that second wave.
I missed the news about the venues when I was moving last week. That's fantastic. I love Re-Bar and hate Neumos, so I'm happy about the choices so far.
It's really weird hearing decibel news on the radio all the time.....![]()
Wait, so who ARE you sharing your "house" with?![]()
Probably whoever offers me free entry to the rippers on 1st. I met a lovely vet my first year.
Some showcase info on ticketing page: http://dbfestival.strangertickets.com/

YES so excited for Dubscured!!!!
Kangding Ray added - http://dbfestival.com/db2014/optical/2-playful-dischord
Ooh, neat. Though I don't know if I'll go to that one. For some reason set times are listed for the House to Haus w/MK, Claptone, & Pezzner.....would be rad if set times for all events announced today were posted.

I was really disappointed in the SF Kangding Ray show because of the awful awful sound. Would love to get a second chance with a proper system.
It is shaping up nicely with the EMP shows, will make it easy to split showcases. A bit like it was when Melrose Market and Baltic Room were utilized. Excited to see what else will be at re-bar since that isn't too far.
I imagine it will be pretty easy to bounce back and forth between Sky Church and Level 3 since it is in the same building, right?
There's a third wave of artist announcements, right? Tin Man & Pepe Braddock are playing a SF show on September 26 so I'm hoping they are added.

So his late night set will be a club audio set only.GND ∞ (Ground Loop) is an “audio only” set, developed especially for the club environment. It was premiered at the Berghain in Berlin in May 2013 and since then performed frequently in venues such as the “Enter” club (Ibiza), “Output” (Brooklyn), “Smart Bar” (Chicago), “Dommune”, “Air” (both Tokyo) and many others.

Ha! I was thinking what he going to do dress up as a ground wire and not actually thinking it stood for ground.
The Showbox, Sodo and Re-bar showcases are now on the dB site:

Final announcements next week!
Yeah lots of options on Thursday. Hoping the Modern Love showcase is staggered well so I can head over to catch Ten Walls live before the Dubscured afters.
Besides the Aftershows, Fri, Sat and Sunday are lacking in comparison to Wed & Thurs. I'm still way excited.
Ooh! I mean, oOoOO! That would be rad.

ahahaha omg
I see zero - absolutely zero - value in his artistic worth and the fact that dB booked him was pivotal in my avoidance of this event. I will not put money in this dingleberry imp's pockets and support his villa in Ibiza, which is the only reason he's still anachronistically and grossly residual on anybody's radar - he invites people to his haughty, culturally void house full of money, films people there with pop idols, and calls it "music" culture. How this is possibly non-obvious to the rest of the music community is just terribly mysterious to me. Which is too bad given there are a number of other bookings for dB this year who are profusely stellar and very worth the >$200 festival pass. As an scientist and an academic, not one cent of my paltry stipend will be going to pay for this imp's villa in Ibiza and brazenly idiotic "contribution" to music. Hopefully dB curation will wake up to the aforementioned perspicuity above and omit inviting this cretin next year. What a disappointment.Francis, there are 120 other artists playing during 5 days - you should check out and support the artists you do want to seeWhat fraction of the >$240 festival pass will be emptied into Mr. Hawtin's already bloated and artistically lacking pockets? As mentioned, as a scientist and academic, even contributing a single penny is a huge insult. I will support the artists that I have huge respect for by attending separate events, not dB2014. I look forward to dB2015 as possessing a potentially more shrewdly composed and curated bill. There are a ton of other up-and-coming artists that could have substituted for a single Hawtin booking .. I find this addition extremely "curious" and demoting the overall worth of dB2014 (which is terribly unfortunate).
I'm sorry, but I won't be attending this event, but its worthy to state why in hopes it will be placed into consideration for next year. Kind regards ..
