You know the song. Every year there's one song you discover by some band you weren't really familiar with until the lineup came out. It's upbeat, it's probably some form of indie rock. It makes you bounce a little while you listen to it. You can feel the sunshine. You can imagine the release that washes over you when you hit those Polo Fields. Even though it's hotter than fuck out, you haul your sweaty ass over to the Mojave or Gobi or Outdoor to catch their set. And while only a few minutes ago you were too beaten down by the lack of sleep you'd suffered in all the excitement, by the drinking and drugs you're blasted yourself with the night before, and by the oppressive heat--when this song hits none of it matters. You're at Coachella.
Took me a while to settle on this because I wasn't liking a lot of the new artists I was hearing, so the official answer ended up being a band some of us already know but at least it's a new song by them. it fails to fulfill some of the normal qualifications for this yearly thread in that I think (HOPE) they won't be playing during the daytime, but it's very possible they'll end up on the main mid-day. Anyway, this is the answer: I strongly recommend listening to it in your car or through good speakers/headphones, it sounds shitty on a laptop.
