New album is groovy. Not super up beat but enough to get you swaying.
I enjoyed the new album and I really disliked the first one. Highly doubt I will see them though, since Friday is so stacked.
They're the guest on today's Nerdist podcast... and there's an exclusive performance of "Holding On To Life"
Covering "And I Love Her" on Letterman last night:
and they announced these dates surrounding Coachella
Apr 10: Tempe, AZ - Marquee Theater
Apr 11: COACHELLA
Apr 13: Tucson, AZ - Rialto
Apr 15: Los Angeles, CA - Fonda
Apr 16: San Diego, CA - Humphrey's
Apr 18: COACHELLA
Apr 19: Oakland, CA - Fox Theater
The new album is pretty meh to me, and I loved the first one.
I like the album. I don't love it but I like it. I am a sucker for James Mercer's melodies and especially this BeeGees thing he's got going on these days.
However, that performance of After the Disco up there (from Kimmel) is so goofy I can't take it! James looks like he has no idea how to be a frontman who doesn't hold an instrument.
I'm seeing them in two days and hoping they play long enough to fit all tracks from both albums
I really don't know why people are so underwhelmed with their new album. It's a fantastic concept album and each tune is amazing in its own rite.
Easily my new second favorite artist of the whole weekend
I am obsessed with Perfect World. The new album doesn't seem to be on Spotify though, the tracks I thought were the best are all on there as singles though.
The first four tracks are absolutely awesome. Perfect World especially is fantastic. I wasn't too high on the rest of the album though. It was okay, it just wasn't anything spectacular.
This has got to be my favorite tune on the album
Last night was pretty great. Their live show is much improved from the past tour.
I usually don't record videos at concerts, but I got two songs from their encore
Do you remember the setlist?
I don't remember the setlist but it was a good mix of both. 75 minutes or so
15 second vid the gf took
If I remember correctly, they used to do an extended version of "The Mall and Misery" on their last tour, which was pretty sweet. Hopefully we get to see something similar at the Polo fields this year.
A Perfect World
The Ghost Inside
After The Disco
The Waiting Game
The Mall and Misery
The Angel & the Fool
Holding On For Life
Sailing To Nowhere
The Changing Lights
Leave It Alone
The High Road
Glad they're still playing so much of the debut, but no Mongrel Heart? That was one of the best songs on it.
EDIT: Durr...just realized "The Waiting Game" IS Mongrel Heart
