security was a breeze but ymmv. getting into the arena for les sins was just as I would hope, just walked in. there's a bunch of seating so the only thing that might be a problem later on is getting onto the floor. other than that it's been a complete reversal of yesterday in terms of organization. today should be great.
the vibe is way different today. seems incredibly less crowded. floor on the arena is pretty empty right now. also i think the 6000 capacity estimate for the floor is more likely than the 3,000 that security guard quoted.

In the back of the arena for Daniel Avery right now and it isn't at all crowded. Lots of breathing room on the floor and entire sections of seats empty. Not to mention, nobody is being turned away. This is the way it should have been yesterday.
Scratch that, they still can't arena properly. Only one entrance and it is a huge clusterfuck to get inside for darkside. Arena isn't at all full, either. And if you want to move from floor to seats you have to leave and get back into clusterfuck because they are blocking the up escalators. Why? Fuck you, that's why.
I was heading for the exit and sat down to catch my breath for some flying lotus. And holy shit, so glad I did. Best set of the night. Not going to bother with the strokes.
yeah I left after that as well. it was a good way to end the weekend and I was too tired to walk 10 minutes plus to go stand in the back for the Strokes. it was different than any of the sets I've seen him do previously. some of that had to do with his new material, but he also just played lots of songs/styles that I'd never really heard him play live before. I'm not describing it well, maybe it was the way he paced it. but yeah, it was great. the new shit sounded crazy. it was also the only set of the weekend that seemed loud enough.
I really regret going to see Mac DeMarco over Ryan Hemsworth. What a bore. I like a few of his songs and I've been hearing about how his live show is really good, but I couldn't really figure out why. I left about 15 minutes early. maybe the ending was better.
all in all, today was much better. still too crowded and walks between stages were such a pain. but they did a lot to try to make-up for yesterday and for that I am thankful.
Everything about today was superb. It almost made me forget how shitty and frustrating yesterday turned out to be. I'm glad I decided to stay and withstand that insane crowd before the Strokes because they did not disappoint. Props to the people in charge for turning this thing around and ending on a high note.
FYF knew they fucked up Saturday, and I assume Sean was both disappointed and angry too. But even with everything they improved Sunday (i.e. all of it), I still missed my toxic cloud of dust in LA State Park, something I didn't think would happen. Ah well, next year.
I heard the Strokes crowd was murderous up front, so I'm glad I played it safe from a distance, but I was also too damn tired to give them my full attention. Chilling in the arena seating was pretty great, though Les Sins wasn't really my thing even though I dig Toro Y Moi. I made a last-minute decision to skip Built to Spill because my feet were killing me and I didn't want to do that damn walk to the lawn and back again. Unfortunate, but at least I ended up getting a kick-ass tri-tip sandwich during then.

Seriously, not only did probably 10% of attendees have one, but it was the same damn shirt.
Wow, I am so Happy I chose not to attend this year. Even happier to hear that Festival Supreme location moved.
The location itself was absolutely not the problem. Stages were spread really far apart, but the necessity for that problem wouldn't have been there for Festival Supreme. The arena was by and far the best part of the festival when it worked.
