Got an email today saying I'll be able to pick up the wristband I purchased at Amoeba "in the next week or so."
There ya go.
Death From Above 1979
What does that have to do with FYF?
What a waste of F5 button pushing
"There ya go"? To something that was posted on this board almost an hour ago, much less everywhere else?
The only one close to the Vagabond I can vouch for is Cole's. Their French Dip sandwiches are awesome as well.
I have two tickets for face value if anyone is interested. I'm in Irvine.
A month back I was saddened to hear the news that Death Grips had broken up. I was excited for their set at FYF and I know a lot of you were as well. Upon their cancellation, I was filled with a bit of motivation. That motivation quickly faded and I felt as if I had the chore of booking “a replacement” rather than booking another great artist. No one should be a replacement. So in turn we have decided not replace Death Grips and extend the set times of the other bands on that stage. We are donating the performance fee that we had committed to paying Death Grips between two organizations - Doctors Without Borders and Skateistan. We believe deeply in these organizations and hope you can spend a minute looking into them. Thank you. – Sean & FYF

And not only that, but "Skateistan", which is one of the raddest charities around. You truly are the fucking worst, Supre.
9/22 The Mekons @ Pappy & Harriet's
No. Its more of them making sure nobody can call them assholes for not doing what they said they would. FYf did ask the fans who they would want to see fill the slot and whatnot. But of course, something liek this ends up happening, figures. why didnt we place bets on them not getting anyone. There were bands available. And see? ''they gave the money to charity'' makes anyone who isnt pleased with the move look bad. Now lets see how the schedule looks with the ''extra time''.
Totally ok with this - money goes to charity and hopefully a longer set for Run the Jewels, would be fun to get to hear a lot of the new stuff. Skateistan is a cool charity as well, watch the promo videos and tell me you can't give $5.
Trail of Dead 9.25 // Trentemoller 9.28 // Boys Noize 10.5 // Faint 10.20 // Dillinger Escape Plan 10.30 // Wild Beasts 11.5
I'm fine with the FYF lineup as it is and am really looking forward to it. But yeah, I'd rather they replace Death Grips with someone I like and let me make my own decisions about my charitable donations.

I find myself surprisingly agreeing with Supre. Even though it's the norm, it's always a douche move when festivals don't replace dropouts (assuming there's enough time to book someone new). That FYF promised to do so only makes this more irritating.
It's awesome that FYF's putting the leftover funds to a good cause. But we gave them those leftover funds for a band. Unless we all told them to use the money differently, they should have felt a commitment to use the cash as they promised to when we paid for our tickets.
I was a bit disappointed at first, but if that extra void means a longer time for a band like Slowdive or Interpol (unfortunately, we don't know what bands were planned for Death Grips' stage), I'll get over it. Money to charity is still more than Coachella ever did with the money for Cat Power, Klaxons, Lou Reed, etc.
