I need some ideas besides mint juleps which were amazing.

I am actually super thrilled about seeing the Strokes. As my expectations were very low for their latest album and was liking a few songs on it. Yet they are still 2nd over Blood Orange. Which Dev Hydes said that the tour for Cupid Deluxe is over besides a few one off shows.

Strokes at Coachella 2011 really bored me, but I'd be willing to give them another chance. Blood Brothers vs The Strokes, do we think that could happen? I feel like they'd be before or after on the same stage.

They actually opened this most recent set with "Pints of Guinness Will Make Your Stronger." They stopped playing "Baby I'm An Anarchist" a few years ago for some reason though.
Saw them last Tuesday, and good god, a serious fuckin show. Was wondering what to expect and was incredibly happy to see they were killing like they've done for a long time now.
    THIS IS SOME REAL SHIT.

I actually really enjoyed the Strokes at Coachella 2011. My only real complaint was the Kanye campers. I hate their last few albums as much as anyone else (actually, they have some die-hard defenders for some reason), but whereas I doubt I'll watch more than 30 minutes of Phoenix, I'm pretty excited to see The Strokes again.

Staying the fuck away from the Voidz set, though. I learned my lesson with that already.

I didn't catch julian this year at coachella, but did he play with the voids or was it him by himself?

Built to Spill actually have a stellar track record for playing quite a diverse range of covers:

I saw them end a show with that in Ohio 13 years ago. It was awful.

They did "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" when I saw 'em. It was nice. Unfortunately, it was a pretty so-so show. They seemed tired, so I hope I get to catch 'em on top of their game.

I've caught them twice and both times they seemed tired. Maybe they're anemic.

I've only seen Built To Spill once - last year at the Sub-Pop 25 Year anniversary block party - and they were spectacular. Tons of energy, sounded phenomenal, and they looked like they were having a blast. I had some friends who saw them in Vancouver a day or two earlier and they said the same thing. Perhaps they are a hit and miss live band? I don't know, but when I saw them last year I loved it.

Also, that Macy Grey cover is amazing.

That cover of Third Uncle was what first got me into Built to Spill back at the first year of Treasure Island. I've seen them 4 times now and every time has been a blast.

Anyone keeping tabs on poster/lineup changes? I noticed Kindness is listed for Saturday on the website's lineup list, but is listed for Sunday on the poster, which is kind of a bummer since Saturday was already supremely stacked.

Same exact thing with Four Tet and Ryan Hemsworth... hmmm. Maybe just a website bug when clicking on "Sat" and "Sun" because it initially shows the full lineup.

I've seen them...six or seven times? A lot. And only seen one "off" show. To elaborate, they just didn't have the same energy they usually do. Most of the time they are really great. Love them!

FYI, the Amoeba ticket page (for instore sales) shows FYF Fest as "SOLD OUT". I'm sure that only means they are no longer selling at that store for now, but possible indicator of a full sellout?

It'll definitely sell out. I know a ton of people who are coming out just for The Strokes, and they're not people who have ever really gone to festivals. Anecdotal I know, but yeah.
