Naked and the Famous seems like they are playing fyf since they are playing at the observatory oc
on august 22 and they are going to play the first city festival
I fucking love Built to Spill. Them and Modest Mouse will present a bad ass late 90's/early 00's Seattle indie theme. Add Death Cab playing only their first two albums to seal the deal.
Festival Supreme announcement for their return this year at Exposition Park. Looks like everyone's assumptions are on point for FYF taking place there as well.
Edit: Also, the element of an indoor arena kills the festival vibe if they use it.

I mean. The old location was 6 miles away from USC. "Authentic" suburbanites partial to punk and indie will still go, if the lineup appeals to them. I don't know how moving the venue 6 miles would result in some sort of onslaught of monied hipsters who are there just for the scene.
4/6: Hookworms, Disappears @ The Rickshaw Stop
4/8: Drive Like Jehu @ The Glass House
4/17: Swans, Angel Olsen
I wonder how high on the bill Built to Spill will be. I remember they headlined Sunset Junction a few years ago.
I saw Classixx for free last year at the Hammer Museum and was surprised by how much shittier the crowd was in comparison to seeing them back in downtown and surrounding areas.
Not saying FYF will be the same...i dont know what im saying really...just that the crowd REALLY fucking sucked.
Sounds like the location will thus be 6 miles closer and a few stops closer on the Metro as well then. Good to know!
Excited about Built to Spill! Never seen them before
The Murder City Devils confirmed.
So if Exposition Park does turn out to be the venue, are the out-of-towners planning on staying downtown and taking the metro in, or staying closer to the park? The Radisson and the Vagabond Inn seem like they would be decent stays nearby.
I wouldn't mind it being in Expo Park --- I haven't been there in decades but I loved the museums as a kid and the Space Shuttle is there now, so that would be a great morning adventure before the fest opens in the afternoon.
I'm really intrigued to see what they do with the park.
