Opening with New Born = not fucking around.
Yup. Gonna have to stake it out at the main stage for all of QOTSA -> Muse
Funny thing is that QOTSA played right before Muse at ACL last year too (on an adjacent stage)

Argh, I hate how they think of us Americans. I mean it's kind of true, but c'mon it's fucking Coachella play some gems.
A group of fans have just met Matt in Brazil. One of them is Catherine Marlin who you may know as the fan who was at every gig this tour and who Fury was played for in the US. She wrote this on Facebook:
"Right, I asked Matt whether I should pack my suitcase away after this trip, or keep it out for Europe in the summer. He assured me that Coachella will be the last gig, because they want to crack on with the new album (his words), so that they can have it out sooner rather than later. I also asked him to play Muscle Museum next weekend, and he said that no-one at Coachella will know it. I told him that wasn't true, and in any case, the gig was being streamed, so millions of fans would see it, if they play it! He said they'll think about it!!"
"We'll think about it" = no and fuck off and we'll do Panic Station and Follow Me and Feeling Good instead. Great.

Muse not being streamed tonight? Or am I blind?
Muse killed it. Thank God for Matt's laryngitis. We only had 2 songs from each of the last two albums. Opening with Stockholm Syndrome>Hysteria was an awesome way to start the night. Also, I was shocked that they played Agitated. I've been dying to see that song forever so that was a real treat. Probably the heaviest Muse set since the Black Holes tour. Oh, and they did the cover of Lithium too.
September 17 - Melvins
September 20 - Wolves In The Throne Room
September 21 - Kanye West
September 23 - Cattle Decapitation
September 30-October 2 - ACL wk.1
October 7 - ACL wk.2
October 11 - Failure
November 6 - Sia
November 12 - Black Sabbath
Sadly they got neutered by the wind . Speakers were all grounded and volume seemed 50%. Had to leave one of my favorite live bands . Have fun weekend two .
Spicy pie is mainstream shit.
Sound was really tough for this one - was next to soundboard and it cut in and out just due to the wind. Gotta try to avoid the mainstage when the wind is going.
Trail of Dead 9.25 // Trentemoller 9.28 // Boys Noize 10.5 // Faint 10.20 // Dillinger Escape Plan 10.30 // Wild Beasts 11.5
Not much they could do with the storm issues affecting the proceedings tonight. But I honestly thought it was a great performance, in spite of all the crap.
I sometimes find myself doubting Muse and the direction they're taking. No more. Love em.

Muse's crowd was smaller than Blur's.
6/26 Sunflower Bean @ Constellation Room, 7/3 Telecaves @ Non Plus Ultra, 7/7 Mitski @ The Echo, 7/22 Weird Al @ Hollywood Bowl, 7/28 Tokimonsta @ Hammer Museum, 8/3 Marissa Nadler @ The Echo, 8/4 Radiohead @ Shrine Auditorium, 8/7 Sufjan Stevens @ Hollywood Bowl, 8/27-28 FYF Fest, 9/24 Music Tastes Good, 9/25 Lush @ Fonda
It wasn't fair , you literally couldn't hear them .
Spicy pie is mainstream shit.
I wish I could get into them.
No more Arcade Fire and Muse headlining Coachella please. We get it.
We get it.
Saved two girls at DFA. Come at me karma.
The show was heavy but overall the worst Muse show I've seen out of the 15 or so. Matt's laryngitis was clearly acting up, he was off key probably partially due to that, the wind, and other sound issues. I appreciate the heaviness of the set and Agitated was awesome but this was my 6th show this tour and the worst by a mile.
Did they manage to make the best of a bad situation? sure. Stockholm is probably my fave live Muse song. When they opened with it I lost my shit...until I heard how awful the vocals sounded, how Matt forgot the lyrics to a lot of the song etc.
They were awesome last night. So good that I could almost consider forgiving them for making the 2nd Law.
Ok, no I can't do that. But fuck they killed it last night.
What was up with the crowd yesterday? Did that many people leave due to the sandstorm or was Skrillex/Nas taking away that many people from the main stage?
It was almost as bad as Blur last year and they are much, much more popular in the states.
^ People would rather be in a tent to avoid the sandstorm as well.
I'm a huge muse fan and left , the wind made the sets unwatchable . The volume was like a boombox.
Spicy pie is mainstream shit.
I liked to put all Coachella 2014 concerts on this site: http://www.livebootlegs.net/tag/coachella/
Did they play much from Showbiz or Origin of Symmetry? That's all I'm really hoping to see/hear live.

Doesn't look like it. Major disappointment. No Bliss, New Born, Citizen Erased, Muscle Museum. Hell I'd take Feeling good over something like Resistance. But Matt's voice is shot. You can see/hear it in the videos. I feel bad for him. True pro.
