I'm fucking stoked for this! Ian Astbury's voice is gonna dominate the polo field
I remember the days when water was free and porn cost money.
This should be a good time.
this was the first thing I saw and about lost my shit. so fucking excited. and the weird thing is I was saying how badly I wanted to see them just last night
Yeah i didn't notice them at first cause they are kinda lower than i would of expected from a band of their magnitude.Pretty excited though. on a completely different note how stacked is saturday? conflict anyone? lol
Coachella Vet since 2007
Honestly the first time I saw the lineup, I thought it was Cults. Friday is by far the best day (Afghan Whigs, Replacements, the Cult, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Bastille, Waxahatchee, Bryan Ferry). Not really excited for anyone on Saturday or Sunday.
I saw them last Fall in Phoenix--they blew chunks. Show started 2 hours late and Ian's voice was toast. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that he might've been sick (he took sips of water constantly). Will give them another chance--was such a dream to see them after all this time.
If they stick with the early to mid 80's dark moody records (Dreamtime/Love) then fine.. Last record was actually good.
But please no fucking 90's cock rock.
I really really hope they're not on during OutKast.
Honestly I heard so much of them in the 80s I got sick of it.
Wow what a pleasant surprise. Total blast from the past. Can't believe they're on the lineup. Missed seeing them on the poster. Must have thought it said Cults or something. Love their whole catalog and especially their earlier stuff (especially Electric album). Can't wait to hear Wild Flower, Love Removal Machine, and Lil Devil on the polo fields!
Holy shit, like the actual Cult? I can't believe I didn't clue into this my first 10 times through the lineup. That is awesome!
Ian Astbury is gonna be duking it out with Liam Gallagher for the "Doucher of Coachella" crown.

Some of you are too young to appreciate them, I missed them in 2013 so this is a special treat for me and Outkast, Girl Talk, the Afghan Whigs and the replacements all in the same day! day 1 is going to be epic this year!

I missed them at Glasgow Barrowland last October because my mate Smalldave was getting married. What can you do...

Agreed, looking forward to this.
6 is like 3, right?
The pilgrimage is not perfected save by copulation with the camel.
Hearing Fire Woman on the polo fields would be life affirming.

Nice! I have 12" vinyl as well. I don't mind "sweet soul sista" and a few others from the late 80's into 90's. And the record they put out in 94' had one of my fave bass players on it Craig Adams (Sisters Of Mercy/The Mission) and is very good. I'm also enjoying the newly released "Electric 13' record which is basically "Electric" before they brought in Rick Rubin to produce it, so it has that gothy/psychedelic feel of Love which is nice!
I could see them getting the same slot OMD had last year. I wish they were playing on Saturday where there is hardly anything I want to see.
