ok...got home...drinking a pint, placed my studio headphones on and dove into this
HOLY FUCKING SHIT...REALLY???? and I mean Really in a great way
powerful stuff coming from these kids, like if they popped out of the womb in full force to make a statement
is it a deeper, more complex sound using headphones?
only track I got from them in high quality is razor edge - I love that dirty synth sound, kind of took me back to Too Dark Park
the others I had to youtube grab and tweaked/cleaned the sound on my mixer...you know me and my toys
Black Sun - Crystal Castle Alice Glass sexy fun, very good use of melody and her voice!!! out of the Chaos her brother is creating, she smooths it out
keep in mind though they are using your usual dubstep/electro beats in some songs but they're fucking kids!!!
what were we doing at 15-16? learning how to masterbate?

http://www.carbonairways.com/Biography-1.htmlRemarkably aged only 15 and 16, Enguérand Fernese and his sister Éléonore are extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalists who produce amazing and destructive electro music.
Classically trained musicians from young ages (violin and cello), the siblings would often play together, eventually picking up electric guitars and discovering a sound that would spite their parents.
Of their choice of name, the band say "Carbon is at the origin of all which is alive on the planet. Under high pressure the carbon crystallises to form diamond: the hardest material and that which is used to listen to vinyl. 'Airways' describes for us the escapism we get from our experimentation within our musical universe."
That universe comes alive in their studio bunker, below their home in Besançon, close to the Swiss border. There the band worked completely alone, having discovered the art of computer-generated music at the age of 13.
Discovered in May 2011 by the Association Le Citron Vert, a local French organisation specialising in supporting of emergent electro projects, they spend time hanging around in the community of local artists, stealing knowledge of software and absorbing ideas to strengthen the structure of their songs.
The unparalleled energy of Carbon Airways ferocious performances has seen them become one of the most talked about live electronic acts around, playing to thousands at Transmusicales de Rennes, Ultra Music Festival Miami, Eurockéennes de Belfort and Optimus Alive in Lisbon.
The dazzlingly brilliant Razor Edge EP is being released on Bad Life in October 2012, and is already a viral sensation. The band will take to the road throughout the Autumn with a string of Live dates in support of the release.
So here are the songs I got from iTunes (didn't bother with the remixes just yet):
- Razor's Edge
- Kiss of Life
- Atomic Is My Mind
Am I missing any other songs? The above are fan-fucking-tastic, by the way. Non-stop Carbon Airways listening party at the kvnty residence today. My cunt neighbor already banged on our common wall for me to keep it down. (We despise each other.)
And thanks for posting that great biography of the band. Can't believe one of them wouldn't even be old enough to drive in this country! Holy shit is there hope for this generation.
^ yes, but that boy rapping puts a slight damper on that song for me. EVERYTHING else is incredible, however.
and Oxydizer is my current favorite song. must have repeated this five or six times at the gym this morning. man, does this band really get the endorphins pumping and the adrenalin flowing. caught myself dancing in place a few times in the weight room and had to check myself.
what I'm saying is this band really turns me on, gets me aroused. cr*****
Find of the year - fantastic
Come a long long, come a long long way
thanks, I watched those vids on this thread, would love to be able to buy them in a decent quality.
These youngsters seem pretty well determined and focused on what they love to do. I don't think they will disappoint with the full length. Hopefully its this entirely amazing as what we've heard. It seems like an eternity since I last heard a new release that was ear crushing from start to finish.
Wow. For their age, I would not expect this music. Glad I came across this, will look into them more!
It was like shock treatment and the Hollywood bar scene in its entirety was drowned out in Sleigh Bells from all that bar hopping you were doing while we were held captive
Yeah I'll be at this set.
Spicy pie is mainstream shit.
Yes! These two are my favorite find. I catch myself humming their songs at work. I went straight to my husband and made him take a listen when I heard these guys. I want to shout my love for them off the roof tops.
I will shout their name with you. And would actually love to hear how someone hums a Carbon Airways song.
Let's seriously shout their name together and go crazy! I really love them that much!
