I don't think anyone could look down on Kershaw achieving when he does. The dude seems like a truly decent human being, and he takes the game so goddamn seriously. I can't wait to see where we're at by the next Dodgers/Giants series.

Also, that was Vin Scully's TWENTIETH no hitter call.

YEAH, Buddy!!
Edit:
2 Cy Young Awards, 2 World Series Rings and 2 No-Hitters...I wonder, is there any other pitcher, historic or contemporary, that can say the same?

No-hitters against the Padres should have an asterisk next to them.
Sandy was the effing man. Thanks for answering, Miroir Noir, I had honestly wondered.

ahh I hadn't seen your edit, apologies MN. He is indeed right albeit Koufax did all of that before retiring at 30.
Koufax was the Chuck Yeager of pitchers.
MLB network reporting A's trade for Jason Hammel and Jeff Samardzija....give up top prospects Addison Russell and Billy McKinney and pitcher Dan Straily.
I'm happy about the trade for the Cubs. They're stacked at SS with Castro, Baez, and now Russell. A tad confusing that a back-end rotation piece was the only pitching included, but they should be able to take in a nice haul when they trade either Castro or Baez.
How is Kershaw not starting the All-Star game?
Let's also not forget the weird choices of Pat Neshek and Josh Harrison to the NL All Star reserves.
Neshek plays for Matheny also, and is a setup man. He does have a 0.70 ERA, so the choice isn't that bad, but 0% chance Matheny selects a middle reliever if it's not someone on his team.
Harrison is hitting .297 with 5 HR and 9 steals in 249 AB. Decent numbers, and the guy has been very clutch for the Pirates since joining the starting lineup, but he's still no All Star.
This space for rent.
Stantons projected 510ft homerun tonight was one of the most impressive shots ive ever seen. Damn, did not think Id ever see a shot that high and far at Target Field. Not a big fan of the 7 outs rule from this year, it didnt give enough outs for the hitters to get in to a good groove. Im sure all you Puig fans would agree.

Céspedes won with authority and did the Bay proud.
7 outs definitely messed with a lot of the participants' minds and made for a nearly sub-par derby.
Justin Morneau may not have fared all that well in the Derby, but he was the only participant to literally hit a home run ball out of the park.

Billy Beane going all in...Cespedes for Lester and Gomes...and then sends Milone (who they demoted for Hammel, who's been awful) to Minny for Fuld.
really going to miss Lester. Couldn't ask for a more professional, stand-up guy to be the ace of a staff (at least from a fan's perspective). I hope the A's go all the way.
And getting Cespedes, one of my absolute favorite players in the game, makes losing Lester sting just a little bit less.
Yeah, this is a move that will help the As avoid the play-in game and help them actually get past Detroit in a playoff series. Cool to see them go all-in. Good value for the Sox, great trade all around for both teams.
As a side note, I am happy to see Jonny Gomes -- a truly irritating player to watch -- leave the Red Sox. Now that he's not going to be there, grinding his fucking batting helmet into his scalp between each pitch, it should shave off a good ten minutes of each game this weekend.
