Yeah, not bad. I'm happy for those of you that had already bought tickets because this thing seemed like clown shoes for the past couple of months.

Its missing the "Epic Legendary" classic rock headliner we were expecting (though both NIN and Soundgarden fit the 30 year thing they mentioned) But i'm gonna call it a success, nothing awe inspiring at the top but a very solid and deep undercard

Absolutey loving this lineup. I prefer it to both Squamish and Sasquatch. I was worried my founder tickets would end up just getting recycled.

Wow, it's better than I thought it would be. I'll take Outkast over Kanye all day, erey day. Don't care about Deadmau5 but it's very diverse and the comedy lineup is really strong. With more to come still, in what seems like a down year for North American fests, this may be my third favorite lineup, behind Coachella and Gov's Ball.

Very good lineup. The Flaming Lips should be embarrassed by their placement on that poster.
    4/28 Slowdive & SURVIVE . 5/2 Jack White . 5/4 U2 . 5/30-6/2 Primavera Sound . 7/21 Lake Street Dive . 7/23 Animal Collective . 7/31 Beach House . 9/15 Beyoncé & Jay-Z

Awesome line up, can't believe those maroons pulled this off. If there are still passes available on Monday when I get back to civilization, I will make the drive over.

Only ForeKast Festival overlap is Outcast. Likely playing Pemberton on Sunday.

NIN/Soundgarden will be Friday and Saturday their shed tour starts in Vegas. Wouldn't want to be that road crew.

Their clues were right on Outkast. The Star/Lightning Bolt/Paper Clip has me scratching my head, though Stars/Flash Lightning might be 2 of them, albiet obscure and not very exciting.

Nice to see 2 major sponsors. Sirius and Molson Canadian beer.

From the cancelled JulySquatch they poached Big Gigantic, Soundgarden, Frank Ocean, Kyle Dunnigan and RL Grime.

    Better than Squamish and MaySquatch.

Nice balance of hip hop/Canadian(including 1 headliner)/EDM/Rock and some older generation stuff.

25-30+ year rock careers apply to NINE acts. NIN/SG/Blondie/Lanois/Lips/Femmes/Dino Jr/Sadies/Downie.

This looks to be one of the more pricey festivals around. Most passes can't be had for less than $400

“Great things take time,” teased Pemberton Music Festival on Facebook all the way back in February.

With the 2014 lineup finally released today (April 9), Huka Entertainment CEO A.J. Niland says organizers are in full control and he’s confident they’ve found a musical something for everyone.

“We made a promise that we were going to put out the best lineup that we could and the best experience,” Niland says in a telephone interview shortly after the lineup was released. “You know, it took longer to get here than we thought, but we weren’t going to rush it out and put something out that we didn’t like.”

Niland wouldn’t say exactly what slowed things down, but he dropped enough hints to reveal it was an eleventh-hour booking that led to a slight delay on the lineup announcement.

“We had a headliner come in graciously at the last minute,” he says. “That’s why you see four names [at the top of the lineup].”

“But we are now back in control of the experience. Through the booking process, the artist gets to dictate a lot of the tempo. But from here moving forward, it’s all under control on our end.”

Headliners for the three-day festival beginning July 18 include Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast, industrial icons Nine Inch Nails, Seattle grunge band Soundgarden, and Canadian producer turned super DJ Deadmau5.

The lineup also includes A-list hip hop acts such as Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, and Snoop Dogg. Rock fans will be happy with Blondie, the Flaming Lips, and St. Vincent. And the electronic crowd will be staying up late with Girl Talk and Above and Beyond, among others. (Find complete lineup details here.)

“I’m really excited about just about everybody,” Niland says. “I can really run through this list and pretty much say that I like everybody, and it would be the truth.”

With headliners accounted for, Niland says he’s sure that planning the rest of the festival will go smoothly.

“We’ve got a pretty amazing experience planned, definitely nothing that I’m aware of that’s been seen up in Canada,” he continues. “We’ve been working really hard, and we’re really excited for July.”

More surprises are in the works, Niland reveals, but ticket holders are going to have to wait a little longer to find out what exactly those will be. Niland was determinedly tight-lipped on further details.

“Nope, can’t get into them just yet,” he says. “They are going to be part of our ongoing releases and folks will be hearing a lot more from us over the next little while.”

Pemberton Music Festival general admission tickets go on sale this Friday (April 11) at 10 a.m., at www.pembertonmusicfestival.com.

Ran into one a band member of one of the bottom line local acts today. They said they were first contacted with an offer a day before the scheduled lineup drop.

Cheapest wristband that wasn't hyper limited is $406. Any festival with a more expensive entry point?

They've been shifting some names around in the 3rd/4th/5th lines.

Grimes getting higher billing than Flaming Lips and Blondie does surprise me a bit.

I was super happy to see this lineup after getting home from weekend 1 'chella. With the exception of OutKast, no artists whom I already saw. Seeing NIN on the poster makes me happy seeing as I was hoping for Trent in Indio. Seeing OutKast again will be fantastic, I'm maybe in the minority in that I loved their weekend 1 set and being at it, but know it'll be tighter and hopefully more flowing once they're mid-way through their festival tour (but hopefully not burnt out from Kansas). Kendrick, Frank Ocean, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, EotS (missed 'em for QotSA or Pharrell I think?), TV on the Radio and even fucking Bob Saget! Blows Squamish out of the water in terms of depth. 2 festivals this year it is, gonna be a good time

Hear hear! I'm doing Hangout next month and aside from simply hoping for a solid Pemberton lineup, I was really hoping for very few carry overs from one fest to the next. Wish granted! Pemberton did a really good job of just being different when every festival usually has alot of similarities.

So, through looking at the website in the faq, I noticed that there will apparently be 5 stages. I'm assuming one will be a comedy stage. That means 4 stages for bands, over 3 days, for at the moment about 60 artists listed. Comparing this to Sasquatch's lineup and schedule which has around 115 artists/comedians also on 5 stages is kind of interesting. Sasquatch has some gaps, but on average about 8 artists play each stage per day, with 45 minute sets for the first few, then hour+ sets from there on out.

With only 60 artists scheduled over 3 days on 4 stages, that's only 5 or so bands per stage per day. I'm assuming some local bands and late adds will fill it out closer to 80 by the time of the festival, but that's what, maybe 7 bands on each stage max? I guess what I'm thinking about is if we're gonna end up with long sets for lower-down artists like Shlohmo through to 90 minute+ subheadliners, or if we'll just be getting lots of gaps between music...

I'm hoping they take the Bonnaroo route and give most of the bands full sets (hour to hour and a half plus more for headliners)

I'm excited for Pemberton! Only issue is I'm not sure if they figured out their traffic problem from 2008. Really only one way to get there and last time the road was backed up.
That's when Jay Z, Coldplay, and Deadmau5 headlined.

From what I understand the only way to bring a car in this year is if you are camping and then it's parked for the weekend, other then that you must walk, cycle or take a shuttle...that should make transport in each day a breeze

15,000 cars in a single lane of traffic is not a recipe for smooth transport, going up Thursday/Friday or coming back Sunday/Monday.

Vancouver to Whistler will be fine, it's the Whistler to Pemberton part that has people worried.

my Immediate thought after hitting post was "well that won't help for opening day and closing night" but hopefully the days in between run smooth
