From what I understand the only way to bring a car in this year is if you are camping and then it's parked for the weekend, other then that you must walk, cycle or take a shuttle...that should make transport in each day a breeze
15,000 cars in a single lane of traffic is not a recipe for smooth transport, going up Thursday/Friday or coming back Sunday/Monday.
Vancouver to Whistler will be fine, it's the Whistler to Pemberton part that has people worried.
my Immediate thought after hitting post was "well that won't help for opening day and closing night" but hopefully the days in between run smooth
The biggest problem in 2008 was getting to the site on Sunday afternoon. Saturday afternoon had trouble with members of Flaming Lips and My Morning Jacket arriving moments before they were due onstage.
Friday July 18th
-Above & Beyond (who are also being broadcast to Spain's Benicassim Festival?)
-Grimes (TIME in Toronto on the 19th, Pitchfork on the 20th. Yikes)
Saturday July 19th
Sunday July 20th
-Frank Ocean (opening up for OutKast)
Also, pitchfork clears it up a bit more too:
-St. Vincent is playing Pitchfork on the 19th, which means she's playing the 18th or 20th.
-Kendrick, Schoolboy Q and Earl Sweatshirt are playing pitchfork on the 20th, so either the 18th or 19th

Good gap between coming back from Europe and doing some more American fests. Maybe a quick stop in Canada? They played such a good set at Coachella...
Aside from that, any other good late adds that are possible?
Looked at Banks' site, she's in London on the 18th and 19th, Dublin on the 20th, so I don't think that's happening. Shame. But Bryan Adams could happen, as could the Vancouver bands I think.
I don't give much worth personally to Bryan Adams, his songs always annoyed the shit out of me, but I suppose he is a legacy act. Curious where he'd go on the poster. But I imagine all the artists listed would help sell more tickets.
Mac Demarco is in Buffalo/DC on Friday/Saturday then 3 weeks off
Wild Feathers are in Nashville for Sunday, but open the week before.
Mother Mother and Justice don't seem to have dates. Justice I can only see as a DJ gig.
I was told a couple weeks ago by someone that knows Bryan Adams guitar tech that he was playing. The demographic attracted in 2008 with Petty/Hip needed more to get them up to the 2014 edition. I'm curious on the Bryan billing since he headlined to 30,000 in Osoyoos back in 1992. Fun with useless obscure facts.
Whistler is a very, very rich area and anyone who owns property in Whistler, or any of the cities on either side, is probably quite well off. Whistler is also known as party city. People go there to get fuuuuuuuuucked up. So when people rent out their place, they want serious inquiries only and they probably want to keep the younger and/ or less affluent away from their property. A hefty non-refundable deposit is a good way of ensuring that.

Tour dates leave open Avril Lavigne and Billy Talent. I see them both as possible to boost ticket sales from the general randoms. Bryan Adams too, as mentioned earlier.
Still think Warpaint is a good possibility too, though. If they're added too, then I don't care how much cheese is added to the top. Maybe we'll also get lucky with Japandroids, or even an Alexisonfire reunion (City & Colour dates could line up as a side on that)
JUSTICE (DJ Set)
CHANCE THE RAPPER
MINUS THE BEAR...
THE BOOM BOOMS
THE MADD WIKKID
And Comedy From JAY PHAROAH
Randy Newman is a super curveball and I'm "meh" on the rest. Where's Bryan Adams?
Another note of interest is the BC liquor board just granted "Rock The Shores" on Vancouver Island a liquor license at a music festival without beer gardens. Not sure if it's a one-off trial.
The FAQ says there will be six stages, including one tent and the music goes from 12:30pm-2am Friday and Saturday and until midnight on Sunday. And assuming a comedy tent. Wonder how the rest will be spread out since right now we are at under 30 acts a day.
