Bowie and Arcade Fire!
Bowie and Arcade Fire!
They're not one of the headliners right?
http://www.primaverasound.com/notici...gen=ps&id=1225The seminal Boston band Pixies, stars of American indie rock, will perform both at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and at Optimus Primavera Sound in Porto.
Fronted by Black Francis, the Pixies are the authors of key records such as "Surfer Rosa" and "Doolittle", which are essential to understand rock music of the 90s. Their stage comeback in the early 2000s meant that a couple of generations that had grown up with their records were able to see them live for the first time. These will be the first shows of their 2014 tour which will include songs from their new album, their first since they released "Trompe Le Monde" in 1991.
I'm sure they are. They also seem to have two each day.
4/8 Ride @ The Roxy, 4/10 St. Vincent @ The Cosmopolitan, 4/14 Barry Manilow @ Staples Center, 5/2 Desert Daze, 5/8-10 Levitation, 5/16 The Juan Maclean @ The Regent, 6/10 Emmy the Great @ Hotel Cafe, 6/12 Emmy the Great @ Hotel Utah
Pixies are pretty huge in Europe. There was a massive crowd last time they played Primavera. Will be interesting to see them without Kim. I wonder how many more bass players they'll have been through by May.
Are NIN the final(?) headliner?
They have a perfect sized gap between Paris and Italy.
Plus no shows in Spain on their tour.
Razzmatazz holds 4k and Riviera holds 2k.
Pixies might be an equal draw as NIN in this particular market.
NIN subbed in France at a major festival in 2013.
SAVE THE DATE 28/01/2014
I'm more anxious for these lineups than I was for Coachella.
Looks likely the other 3 headliners will be nin, the national and interpol. Really hope I'm wrong about the last two.
Would they really try to pass off Interpol as a headliner when they didn't in 2011 and the fest has only grown larger since then (and Interpol having lessened in popularity)?
What about Portishead and Belle & Sebastian? I know my prospective crew is really hoping for Portishead since they'll be doing other fests this summer.
And just one of the TBA three will make it to Porto, yeah?
Yeah I'd say Interpol is the least likely of that group. Holding some hope for Outkast, but it's doubtful.
this is my maybe list:
Julie ruin/Kathleen hanna
placebo(werchter a month later)
Looks like metronomy will be there.
Chvrches and Kathleen Hanna/Julie Ruin in London 1 week before Primavera. JR in France on the 27th.

I'm guessing no Interpol. They're definitely ruled out for Porto because of Optimus Alive, at the very least.
Neutral Milk Hotel
Barry Hogan DJ
Bradford Cox doing something every day
Dum Dum Girls
The Dismemberment Plan
Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld
Possible due to tour dates:
Nine Inch Nails
The Julie Ruin
The War on Drugs
most everyone at Field Day ((Warpaint, Jagwar Ma, Blood Orange, etc)
Nisennenmondai (in London the week before and they're playing Sonar two weeks later, which should rule them out, but maybe they're this years Liars in that they're the one act that plays both?)
And then there's the Slowdive countdown.

For what it's worth arcade fire arent playing Porto either.
Hmmm. Arcade fire, nin, pixies, kraftwerk, neutral milk hotel, the national?
One of my friends really wants some Swedish pop. I know Robyn is doing northside and lykke li and little dragon will be around but currently only have one fest each, so who knows. Wonder if any of those would get booked.
Doesn't this lineup drop tomorrow?
