Final Four or bust for my #5 ranked Wildcats. BEAR DOWN.
It's almost Jabari Parker time...Can't wait for this season, tons of solid match ups and especially with the reformatting ACC.
Hah, no doubt. That game taught me a valuable lesson. DO NOT travel to see UNM play in the NCAA Tournament, it will just end in major disappointment.
And all the assholes who were rooting for Harvard that game were treated to a terrible game between Arizona and Harvard two days later.
By the way, get ready for what might be an unwatchable first month or so of the season. I don't know the specifics, but there are new hand-checking rules, so the number of fouls called during these secret scrimmages have been pretty much off the charts. It could be ugly until the players adjust to the new rules. But it ultimately might make for better basketball when things settle down.
Tonight, I will drink from a cup filled with the tears of Duke fans.
Rock Chalk, baby.
Coachellas attended: 2007-present
Great day for Duke basketball! Jhalil Okafor and Tyus Jones, two of the top five recruits for next year, both committed to Duke. I know it's damn near impossible but just the thought of Parker coming back next year and hooping with these kids would be a nightmare for the nation. Oh, to dream...
The MSU/Columbia final score is incredibly misleading. Michigan State looked terrible.
MOTHER FUCKING WILDCATS, SON.
Great win for Arizona...balanced scoring with all starters in double figures, and a very impressive defensive effort in the second half...held Jabari Parker to his worst shooting night (7-21) of the season.
Solid win for Arizona last night. Duke definitely needs to get their defense ironed out and everyone other than Parker and Hood need to figure out what their roles are. I'm pretty shocked how Rasheed Sulaimon has taken a step back after tearing it up in the Tournament last season. Here's to hoping this ridiculously tough schedule helps toughen those boys up. Michigan on Tuesday...
As long as Arizona can avoid a let down against UNLV this Saturday, they should be ranked #1 in the next set of rankings. Looking at their body of work through through 8 games in comparison to the rest of the teams near the top, I honestly don't think it's very close either.
Huge comeback win for Stanford at #10 UConn...with no bench scoring and going 41% from the line.
i am not surprised by the Stanford win... Shabazz Napier is the most overhyped guard i've seen this season
and speaking of underrated, keep your eyes on Texas' Isaiah Taylor.. his blazing speed in pushing the pace had North Carolina's transition defense completely on their back heels. He is a disrupter . And thunders his way to the basket with absolute no fear.
If he could develop some sort of outside stroke i might be tempted to give him the New-Iverson mantle
UCLA-Duke at MSG tonight.
And I've lived in Albuquerque all my life. I've just been a college-basketball nut since I was 12-years old, and I have an especially vivid memory of college basketball in the 90's. I even remember Harper Williams, my friend. Oh and a family friend of ours, Kenny Thomas, worked out with Lari Ketner in preparation for the 1999 NBA Draft. I don't remember if Ketner got drafted, if he did it was in the 2nd round, but Kenny went in the 1st round to Houston and had a nice career.
