if you're trying to go to school, why don't you take out financial aid?
http://www.okcupid.com/profile/mikedupree22?cf=profileThe first things people usually notice about me:
I think people notice that im a special person when they get to know me.
I will judge Mike for this, though, per his OK cupid page:
Mike, I think you meant to use the word "feminine," but also, what the fuck? How is spending a Friday night with people you love feminine? On a typical Friday night I am
On a friday night i am with the people i love the most.
It sounds femine but its valid.
and in all seriousness, i do think based on your internet situation you have a lot of options when it comes to taking out financial aid for school. your EFC sounds like zero. even if you are still a dependent, you can apply for a dependency professional judgment or wait until next semester when you're 24 anyway. in the past few years they've also made special provisions for the homeless. in addition to pell grants.
Digression: when people advocate "charity care" as an alternative to (what's left of) the welfare state, this is the moral absurdity that they are envisioning. People beg strangers for money. On the internet. Those with money pass arbitrary judgment on their need and the reasons for it, but only if they can get past the baseline question of whether it is all a joke or a scam.
Moral judgement is easy and it feels good.Over and over and over again it's this same pattern: if you have money and do something, why, of course, it's just human behavior. If you're poor and do something, it's completely your fault and you should act better if you ever want things to be better.
Got money? Sure, spending the night out on the town buying expensive drinks is understandable, after all that hard work you deserve a break to relax and enjoy yourself. You earned it! Don't have money? What the fuck are you doing spending your money on booze you no good drain on society? Who cares if you just worked a 40 hour work week, you should be getting a second job, not laying around being a lousy alcoholic.
Got money? Why of course you have a microwave, a fridge, cable tv, and the internet. Don't have money? Why are you spending your money on these trivial things? How do you call yourself poor with all these appliances? Truly poor people squat in shanty towns down by the river and are covered in flies. You're just trying to milk the system, you no good deadbeat. Instead of spending your money on cable, you should be buying a new suit and tie and be hitting the pavement every free second of the day trying to find a more lucrative career.
Got money? Children are life's bounty! They are our future! They'll take care of you when you're old and provide you with a sense of meaning and fulfillment in the meantime. Don't have money? What kind of monster are you bringing a child into the world when you can't even manage to bring home a six figure income? Why are you even spending time having sex when you should be focusing solely on pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
Ok I'm going to try to respond to everyone's questions and suspensions. I'm not trying to raised money for coachella. I'm raising money to get myself a room to rent and hopefully after that happens ill find or have a steady job to support myself with. For the last 3 years I've been off amd on the streets. My family has been there for me on the past but they believe thay I need to figure it out on my own. My parents havent been in my life. I was raised my grandparents and aunts and uncles. I'm on probation because i steal a set of golf clubs and was caught. I resorted to stealing to survive and now know it was the worst decision I could of made. I've been able to go to coachella the last four years by luck. By doing favors I have been given tickets each time. I thank everyone for their responses.
I'll donate to the cause for a nice set of Cleveland golf clubs
By favors I mean cleaning houses, yard work, help move someone, stuff like that.
Thank you to whoever donated 25 dollars. Im not sure who did. It just says from coachella family
