Who else has it? Was it just me or was it incredibly dusty weekend 2? My asthma was so bad my inhaler just wasn't cutting it. Still coughing that raspy cough it's Friday ! Any suggestions!? My doc didnt want to treat me for pneumonia just yet. :/
Try eating oranges, strawberries, and/or grapefruits. Eat as many as you can. If you drink OJ, get the kind with pulp. Take a multivitamin. Pump your body full of vitamins.
Exercise, even if you have to go slow. The idea is to get your blood flowing and air moving in and out of your lungs. This will help clear some of the crap out and recharge your immune system. It will also help you sleep if your body is tuckered out.
Robitussin DM and Nyquil - take one or both about an hour before you want to fall asleep for the night. Get at least 8 hours of sleep.
Don't drink or smoke until you are healthy.
I went to weekend one, had some allergies while I was there, but nothing too bad. Came home, and felt a little better, then as of two days ago, got a pretty gnarly case of laryngitis. Pretty sure some dust or smoke from all that wind stuck around in my vocal chords for a while a messed me up. haha. No other symptoms, just lost my voice.
I just dealt with it. Last year I blamed the dust for causing me to leave sunday early. When the shitstorm started this year, I refused to back down, dusty face and all. I later found out that they were handing out free masks at the 1st aid tent. Oh well, I fought through, and the cough went away as of Tuesday
I never just get a cough. I always get a fucking cold. It doesn't help that I don't normally smoke cigarettes, and I went overboard friday night. I was dying on saturday, but a surgical mask really helped me. It not only kept more dust out of my throat but it seemed to humidify the air I was breathing, I felt so much better after a few hours, I was still mad congested but my sore throat went away.
Protip: bring four or five masks, they are made of paper, and get moist. you will not want to reuse the same mask you wore the day before. also if you get liquid on it you're hosed.
now it's Thursday and I still have large amounts of thick green phlegm, fever and chills. so worth it though.
I have broken my Coachella sickness curse, in 2010 I got the flu and it started to kick in as I was driving into Indio had a fever the entire weekend. I skipped 2011 and got the flu Sunday of 2012, returned home and missed that week of work cause I was so sick. 2013 I beat my curse and haven't gotten sick the last 2 years. Thank goodness... I just hope it stays that way.
