Flight for Weekend 1 is booked!![]()
No, I'm not. I'm saying I don't like non-city festivals as much as city festivals, I don't like like short set times, etc. The dude said "you can't beat ..." and in my opinion, hell yeah you can.
But I LOL'd when the tool suggested that 100 degrees and sunny was a problem on the Coachella board. Genius. Sorry about the sunlight, vampire prick.
Im bad at speculating how the headliners and subs (main stages) will look in the dual headliner setup of lolla/acl...
Just to get this convo started:
Friday:
Main North HL = Depeche Mode
Main North sub = Atoms for peace
vs
Main South HL = Kings of Leon
Main South sub = Vampire Weekend
Sat:
Main North HL = The Cure
Main North sub = The National
vs
Main South HL = Phoenix
Main South sub = passion pit
Sun:
Main North HL = Muse
Main North sub = Arctic Monkeys
vs
Main South HL = open
Main South sub = Wilco
shit where then does queens of the stone age, Franz and Richie fit in damn.
there is no daily lineup so we don't know who plays what day
they did away with singles this year, weekend 2 is still not sold out either. : /
Fuck downtown unless you have the coin to get a room, otherwise stay anywhere along IH35 or South Austin. Do not stay anywhere far up north, cops just get worse up there and people are less than pleasant. Lookout for Aftershows and check out the Warehouse district if you don't care for the college kid crowd of 6th st.
Odds of Brand New being added? ACL is known for adding a mid-teir band sometime in between the initial lineup release and the festival, and they just announced US tour dates...
September 13 - Cincinatti, OH @ Bogarts
September 14 - Grand Rapids, MI @ The Intersection
September 17 - Buffalo, NY @ Town Ballroom
September 18 - Clifton Park, NY @ Upstate Concert Hall
Surely more dates will follow.
Odds of a band being added? >50%
Odds of your one specific band being added just because they are touring on the same continent within a month of the festival: <1%
i have friends going both WEs. time to choose i guess.
Based on the release of Corona Capital lineup we should be able build in some travel time and get a rough schedule die to the amount of overlap. Yes?
Overlap/conflicts of weekend 2 assuming bands will play same set times both weekends...
Fine.. I'll try the rationale legwork...These are basically NOT playing that day...
Friday...none (no Corona Capital)
Saturday... Phoenix
Sunday...P.The Man, QOTSA, Arctic monkeys, Vampire Weekend, fun(period), The Black Angels, Jake Bugg, Deap Valley, Depeche Mode(vegas 10/6)
Therefore...
Friday...Depeche Mode, Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, Vampire weekend
Saturday...Muse, Qotsa, AFP, wilco
Sunday...The Cure, KOL, Richie, Passion Pit
Top two, two main stages, ready go
So help me if they put Muse against Atoms for Peace
QOTSA is playing friday. They have a show in dallas on saturday.
April 24 - Queens of the Stone Age
April 26-28 - Levitation
Arctic Monkeys confirmed for Friday
If Muse, QOTSA, and Arctic Monkeys are all on Friday, I think there may be a conflict in my future. Hoping that's not the case.
