shit, I was buying those security guys off left and right this year (and for cheap)
There was never once a line for me Weekend 2. Lovedddd the Yuma <3
One time, to see Morgan Page at the avalon( a club in LA), the front of the stage was super packed and the bouncer wasn't letting people through. I palmed him a 1 dollar bill (that's the only cash we had on us) and he let us through. To be fair, people were palming him cash all night.
Your Replies are Helpless, I've asked a fairly simple question that you obviously don't have the answer too, no need to chime in with a bunch of pointless comments that don't pertain to my specific question, Once again the point of the VIP question was in regards to two instances; one where people were flashing their wristband to get in, not handing someone a 20 or greasing a palm, and the 2nd was when i tried to exit the side with my girl to use the porta potties and the security guy at that door asked to see my wristband, implying if i had the proper wristband i couldve exited and re-entered.
On Friday Weekend One during Four Tet I saw a woman keep bringing in cute girls from the back entrance by the paintings. She would just lead them into the crowd and go back outside. When I went to take a breather before DJ Harvey I saw the same women pick off girls waiting in line at the end of Four Tet. I think she was in charge of making sure the Yuma was off on the right foot. Next day I did not see her (only went in the Yuma for 2 Bears and Cassy afterwards) nor see girls getting in. Only people who were lead straight behind the DJ booth who I assume were VIP in some manner.
Fully aware this does not answer your question
Would clearing the venue between acts remedy some of the issues raised in this thread?
One of the venues(some EDM acts) at Bumbershoot is indoors and clears the room when roadies are changing gear onstage. I know the cold/heat change could be jarring, but so is the wet outdoor weather/dry indoor venue in Seattle.
No line right now...
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
