It's the desert, so there will probably not be too many mosquitoes. I have no idea about bees, although I've heard recently that large amounts of bees are mysteriously disappearing (not sure if that is local to me in Arizona or worldwide). I don't think bugs will be a problem. I've never had a problem with bugs at Coachella.
Probably the only insects we have in large quantities are ants, palmetto bugs (large roaches) & those tiny gnats that come out especially at sun-down. Golf course lakes get occasional mosquitoes. Once I saw what looked like a huge cockroach in my condo...it was a bug that lives in palm trees - the size of a large mouse. I wouldn't bother with bug spray, but I would consider sunblock.

Please be joking. I am such a girl when it comes to bugs... and if I see a giant cockroach-like creature, I may just run away screaming and flailing like an idiot! For real- I found a cockroach in my hotel one time and I left & made them give my money back.
Try not to let your mind wander... It's too small and fragile to be out on its own...
