Spicy pie is mainstream shit.
Props to them for playing without a ridiculous light show or giant screen that every act seems to require now days. They're music still isn't good to me though.
4/19-4/21 Coachella
5/25 Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Teebs @ The Fox Theatre
5/29 Tame Impala @ The Fox Theatre
??? Bjork @ The Craneway Pavilion
I was at that pheonix show it fucking sucked. I said I watched the stream of this. Go read the stream thread most of us had the same opinion . Obviously when someone has an unpopular opinion compared to this board ,not necessarily in real life you assume it can't be real. Proves how samey and bullied this board is. Props to theklein for sticking to his guns!

I've been a fan of RHCP for decades, and I think they continue to be a fabulous band live. Just because the current hipsters aren't big fans, doesn't mean they all of a sudden suck. I enjoy more recent indie bands, just as much as the next person (Looking forward to Purity Ring, Grimes, Sigur Ros, Tame Impala, Beach House, XX, etc.) One of my personal pet peeves is how Coachella/and the current indie crowd has kind of ignored the music that Goldenvoice started it's roots in. I'm glad that they have descendents and social distortion on the lineup this year, but for true music fans, and people who have been into indie or punk music a long time, there doesn't seem like there should have been any good reason for older bands such as RHCP or Bad Religion, that were the mainstay of Goldenvoice shows back in the day, somehow to not fit in with the Coachella or current indie scene anymore. I've seen RHCP multiple times since the late 80's, including their recent tours, and they still are amazing live. One thing I know about them, is no matter how the fickle the current tastes of music snobs are, they will continue to play excellent music for years to come
RHCP the new Perry Ferrell.
RHCP killed it, new guitarist and all. And I think we can all agree that Flea is the motherfucking man.
I left to see the remote controlled sharks
They aren't the greatest live anymore, but Flea still rocks out and theyre still a lot of fun. hit after hit after hit.
^ Yup.
Flea, Josh, Chad = amazing!
Anthony was okay.
I appreciated hearing some older songs, but the weekend 1 set had some other songs that should've carried over to weekend 2. :/
Flea, Chad, and Josh are all amazing musicians and I don't think anyone is going to question that or say anything otherwise. It still doesn't change the fact that they have been a very average band at best for the past decade or so.
All you Chili Pepper fan boys and girls should apologize to Jamie Jones, Prydz, Disclosure and Dead can dance....from what I've seen of the RHCP set, they were on point and if you havn't ever seen them (and I don't know how this could be possible unless you are 12 or have never been to a festival ever) then I guess you had to see it once and you got an ok performance....but anyone else, you blew it.
