Nicolas Jaar!! you have to check him out, Kastle, Emancipator, Eskmo and Kalya Scintilla!! Amazing lineup this year
Watched a few Nicolas Jaar videos and am really looking forward to this. I love it when electronic music is mixed with live instrumentation and vocals.
I saw Emancipator at sunset the last time I was there and it was pretty spectacular. Love Eskmo and looking foward to that, and just checked out Kayla Scintilla and REALLY looking forward to checking this guy out.
Thanks for the recomendations. Still plenty of time to sink my teeth into this lineup![]()
LIB is the gateway between Burning Man and Coachella. You're not paying for the music as much as you are for the experience. Highly Recommend. Blows away any other festival(aside from the Burn of course). Get your love on, ask someone for a hug. Sounds weird, hippie, whatever you want to call it - it'll make sense when you go. LIB was my first large festival. Oh, you'll also start to appreciate up and coming DJs like Pumpkin for example. If you hung out at Do-Lab stage you kinda got a feel.....
Half off single day tix to lib

I can't believe the regular price for a one day pass is $130.
I love the music, the vibes, and the people, but this festival is such a fucking rip off.
Who knows... My guesses for headliners are: Friday- Pantyraid, Saturday- Rusko, Sunday- Nico
Here's set times from the past 3 years
2012: http://www.festivalzoo.com/2012/05/l...mes-announced/
2011: http://www.coachella.com/forum/showt...le-2011/page30
2010: http://afromonk.com/2010/05/afro-mon...2010-schedule/ (That lib was def my favorite. At least, I enjoyed the music the most)
Hard to find a trend musically as to how they book it. Probably more decided based on tour schedules n what not.
If anyone feels like getting a sample of some of the artists playing this year, I recorded a mix the other day featuring them and put it up on soundcloud. hope you enjoy! Sorry if you don't like Joel Mull... but you should because he's gonna tear up the woogie stage this year, no doubt.
does anyone have any tips as to what to expect for this festival? are there other forums of discussion on lib anywhere? can't wait to start preparing for this festival![]()
found a LiB 2013 playlist on spotify to help me research. I'm really only familiar with a small handful of acts on the lineup and I'm not even that familiar with those that I do know.
I really hope I can get all the time off from work that I need, otherwise I'm going to have to set up camp and then go to work during the day and then party at night until the weekend.

yes!!!!!
this lineup is awesome, can't believe cari lekebusch is playing this. what a great mix of artists
no for real what days are people playing
Yeah, it would be kind of inconvenient to decide on which days to go based on the line up. The day break down didn't come til May 17th last year.
edit: someone already said it, but Tim Green. Yeaaah, excited for that one too.

Now that Coachella is over, I can think about LiB. I put together a playlist of some of the larger acts (as defined by font size) on youtube:

Layaway options available. 2 or 3 payments. That's pretty awesome, wasn't expecting it.
Theyre not doing too well on ticket sales. This new location could potentially break them...
does it always sell out? I thought I read that there were almost always tickets available the day of. another reason they might be behind (if they are) is that they have 15,000 additional tickets to sell. hopefully the new location isn't the problem, because it's actually kinda nice there - even in july.

is thursday a full day of music and activities or is it more like coachella where you basically just set up camp and socialize with the main fest starting friday?

The party starts Thursday and the music on the lineup starts Friday. There's plenty of music in the campgrounds all day and night on Thursday though.
thanks. that's pretty much what I expected. I'm running into a problem with vacation days and I think I've decided that I will work thursday and get there after work. I have 4 people camping with me so far, will they be able to save me a little plot of land so i can get there late? I've read a lot about people claiming a decent sized area, so i don't expect this to be a problem, but still want to plan ahead.

they really seem to be unconcerned about space on the camping info page so I think that indicates that there might be plenty, I could be wrong of course- scenic, did you hear the capacity was 15k? I got word that they are definitely not expecting a sell out til the week of the fest.
Showing up anytime Thursday is showing up early, there should be plenty of space. It doesn't usually get crowded until late Friday or even Saturday morning, at least in years past.
oops. for some reason I read that initial announcement as an increase of 15k additional visitors and not the total capacity.
good to know. That means I can probably save a vacation day and just show up after work on Thursday. I know they mentioned that it was more compact than oak canyon even though there is technically more area. I'm not really worried about not having any space when I get there, I was just making sure that the rest of my group that plans to arrive earlier in the day can set aside a little space for me along side them and it really doesn't sound like that will be a problem.According to the application, festival organizers are expecting up to 15,000 attendees and will offer workshops on green and healthy lifestyles. A business plan also outlines three stages of speakers and performances that will run until midnight.

only a week left to start the 3step payment plan for layaway tix, 2 weeks left for the 2step plan.
First time going...how does campground security compare to that of coachella? and what is the policy on bringing in beer and liquor into the campsite?
Excellent great to hear!! Campground security is very relaxed and police presence is on the low. They dont care what type or kinds of alcohol you bring. Festival security is also like this. There is literally no search walking into the venue. I remember seeing a bunch of people hitting their bongs near the main stage. Its a very relaxed festival compared to Coachella.
