Fuck it I'm starting a thread. AOTY so far. I think they really might be the 21st century ambassadors of peace & magic. I like Beck, Bob Dylan, The Stones, Lou Reed, The Kinks and The Beatles a lot.
They're playing the Echo on March 29 and I will be there.

The whole album is fantastic, however, I saw them at the Echoplex and they were slightly disappointing. They have no reservation or poise, they were aggressively stomping through parts of songs that require a bit of finesse. San Francisco's chorus should not be screamed and thrashed about. Anyway, I'd give them another shot and you certainly can't accuse them of mailing in the performance.

tour dates for the next few weeks have officially been canceled (lead singer broke his leg at a show earlier this year). the band says they'll be back in time for ACL in October.

ran up a nearly $200 bar tab on Plymouth gin at the recent Roxy show. But how can you not play Hang? So powerful, so emotive.
Stayed at the W hotel, which was incredible as was the entire "LA" experience. El Condor and The Kitchen in Silverlake. Tippa Lee/Sista Nancy at the Echoplex ringing in the New Year with full force on the mic. Hiked up way above the Hollywood sign early in the morning stoned with wailing coyotes. Still wouldn't live there, but it was such a fun visit.
