Just did Saturday with the idea that the other stage is Richie Hawtin themed. I would love it to run all night at the campsite instead. Such a clusterfuck day.
Richie is not going to have his own stage dude, this isn't EDC.
Books Shade at 530, fuck off.
Purity Ring makes way more sense in a late night Gobi set, can't even imagine seeing them in the day time.
All this "Put Sigur Ros on the Outdoor" crap has got to stop.
I also see New Order in an Outdoor spot, similar to Duran Duran's time a couple of years ago.
Duran Duran played before The Strokes on the main stage
I meant Mazzy Star...yeah, I totally meant Mazzy Star.
Closing the outdoor would accommodate their demands to play at night and what's supposed to be a big setup. Having them sandwiched between other acts seems like a guaranteed source of drama.
12/16-18 Day for Night
Exactly and with Phoenix on the main that would eliminate the concerns that their set on the outdoor would be a clusterfuck.
Sigur Ros has played the main stage twice and have only gotten bigger. The xx only have two albums.
This is how I have Saturday night on the Coachella and Outdoor
10:20-11:10 The xx
9:05-9:55 The Postal Service
7:35-8:35 New Order
6:20-7:10 Franz Ferdinand
5:05-5:55 The Violent Femmes
11:30 Sigur Ros
10:00-10:50 Hot Chip
8:15-9:05 Two Door Cinema Club
7:00-7:50 Grizzly Bear
5:40-6:30 Bat For Lashes
That Hot Chip/the xx conflict will suck.
Violent Femmes on the main would be miserable...Mojave or bust.
Coachella 2017: 4/14-16 @ Empire Polo Fields
Outdoor is close too. I get a Mojave at night vibe from 2DCC, and wouldn't Bat for Lashes fare better at night? Yeasayer might be an outdoor contender over 2DCC. But this schedule looks like a great starting point for Saturday.
After FYF, I see Yeasayer on the main so that is why I put them there but I can also see them on the Outdoor or even Mojave.
I also picture the XX on the main then the younger crowd moving over to see Hot Chip close the outdoor after while the dedicated Sigur Ros fans are at the main stage set before Phoenix. Sigur Ros more than deserve the "Animal Collective" awkward middle spot in between the much more popular band (Mumford & Sons/xx) and the closer.
FYI, I am using the 2011 set times almost exactly because we had a 6th stage that year. Still, not having the exact times on the spread sheet for each act trips people up while looking at it.
"Richie Hawtin themed stage" full of acts that sound nothing like Richie Hawtin, aren't on his label, etc etc etc etc
