Lumineers and Monsters and Men sound like cheap rip offs of good music we were listening to ten years ago.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. I've only been into this music for around the past 3 years but these bands are just generic copies of much better indie bands that came out a while back. Nothing is great about them and they just make radio friendly indie-pop songs. If you're into that, then there's no problem. I just don't really like when the genre is that radio friendly or poppy, it just doesn't do it for me.
HAHA...Same here. On first glance I thought it said Moderat and I got excited. Then I realized it said "Modestep" and checked out who they were. Absolute garbage...but I bet they draw a crowd.
I decided to give Modestep a shot at EDC this past year...biggest mistake of my life. It was the most uncoordinated mix of electronic music and live instruments I've ever heard. They stopped a track and started screaming at the audience and shit, it was horrendous.
Man, I would give anything to see an Evens "kid show" where he berates the child audience in full-on Fugazi fashion.
"I saw you two guys earlier at the consumer truck and you were eating your ice cream like little boys and I though 'Those guys aren't so tough. They're eating ice cream, what a bunch of swell guys! I saw you eating ice cream pal! You're bad now but you were eating an ice cream cone and I saw you. That's the shit you can't hide! Ice cream eating motherfucker. That's what you are!"
Everyone calls you the Justin Bieber of EDM. How does that make you feel?
"I think its great that people compare me to Justin Bieber, some people say it in a bad way, but I think its great because Justin Bieber been working really, really hard."
After reading this thread and hearing a couple of this year's acts I am VERY dissapointed in Coachella/GoldenVoice.
Who's in charge of booking cause they need a reduced salary or straight get thrown in File13...
