You've got to be fucking kidding me.
You've got to be fucking kidding me.
I would rather see The Black Keys...Again
Then go to Lollapalooza.
OMG There's a band playing you don't want to see, go to another stage.

I don't understand this hate. 4th album coming out, good songs, radio hits.. They are not a bad headliner...
5th album actually, but most people think it's going to be their 2nd.

They killed it with a huge crowd in 2010. I'm looking foward to seeing them on the Main.
Phoenix was one of my favorite sets from 2010. They will put on a great show this year.
Yes they will, but now that they're more popular and on the first line it's not gonna be cool to want to see Phoenix. At least not on this board.
Phoenix will kill it, and if their new album is good they'll get huge and nobody will be questioning why they headlined at Coachella.
And "Love Like a Sunset," is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
It still gives me goosebumps.
They will be amazing headliners actually. Just you wait.
Whether or not they're "good" isn't the issue. Could they sell out an arena in Los Angeles by themselves? If not, they shouldn't be headlining.
Hell they went against Green Day at Lollapalooza in 2010 and drew a nice crowd. They also put on an amazing show that weekend.
I'm definitely excited to see them this year. I'm sure they'll be headlining a LOT of festivals this year with Coachella and Primavera leading the way. Look at Kings of Leon after headlining Glastonbury, they went on to headline everything the next year everywhere else.
My only disappointment with the lineup is the clusterfuck on Friday and Saturday and the weak Sunday. Especially weak Sunday healiner![]()
The band has stated in interviews that the upcoming album (Bankrupt!) is going to be a departure from the pop sounds of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, and they are trying to create something more experimental.

I hope they use the headliner-length set to play the whole Funky Squaredance. That's my dream scenario.
The one that I have in mind is the Arcade Fire.
I also would like to re-word my last statement a bit.. I meant that Coachella is willing to prop bands up as headliners before there is consensus that they are headliner material.
Kings of Leon might be another example, no?
