Most buttons show "PURCHASE", but festival passes only show sold out. Are they really sold out or is this potato

No, seriously, GA and VIP passes sold out for weekend 1 during the pre-sale last summer.

To buy a pass for weekend one you have to get it bundled with a shuttle pass or some sort of camping deal.

I guess it's quite rare not to camp/use shuttles anyway so they probably don't have that many stand-alone tickets

Passes go on sale THIS Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at 10am PST. Please visit Coachella.com to get familiar with the types of passes available. The festival passes available for Weekend 1 include GA/Shuttle Pass combo, GA/Car Camping Combo, Companion Camping Parking, Lake Eldorado, Safari, VIP Parking or Shuttles. For Weekend 2, all passes except for "tent only" camping are still available. LAYAWAY IS NO LONGER AN OPTION FOR EITHER WEEKEND.

So yeah. Not fair but hey - that's why I did pre sale

It's the same thing they did last year....it's bundled with the shuttle pass.

It sold out in 2 hours last year (the general sale) expect the same or faster this time.

How is it not fair? They gave you an opportunity to purchase last May. Anyone with any knowledge of how ridiculously in-demand this festival has gotten would have known to jump on it. There's still plenty of other options available.

The lineup doesn't matter. Coachella is a HAPPENING now -- it generates its own magnetic pull. It's gonna be a feeding frenzy when the clock strikes 10am on Tuesday.
