Led Zeppelin (confirmed that they will be touring)
U2 (why not)
Pearl Jam (they are over due)
David Bowie (he needs to do it)
Daft Punk (of course)
Portishead (cause they're that bas ass)
A Tribe Called Quest (the best hip hop group of all time)
Outkast (only if ATCQ doesn't show)
Tool (3 times a charm)
There's North America Arenas he's played THREE times since 2009. Some crazy ticket prices as well.
Nothing but theatres once he hits the U.S. But please, continue.
I wouldn't place much stock in billing order. Remember Soundgarden getting higher billing than Lady Gaga at Lolla 2010? Mum ford could sell upwards of 10x as many tickets as Beck in many North American market right now.
Why am I arguing with Bumblebee? I need my fucking head examined.
I get what you're saying, Larry. I wasn't comparing JT and Cohen. I was just responding to your comment and Cohen was a name that first popped into my head.
FYF Fest 8/27 - 8/28
brian eno should close the mojave
So with talks of a possible Oasis reunion next year for the 20th anniversary of Definitely Maybe, could they possibly headline? I hate to use the "Stone Roses headlined so anybody can" excuse but I think that actually could realistically apply here.
Mumford & Sons
Queens of the Stone Age
At this point, I think too many people are gonna be disappointed if Daft Punk doesn't perform, as opposed to being happy if they do
^ absolutely. I think people are expecting way too much with DP. Sure they will put on a great performance but like someone else said in another thread it's not going to be the once in a lifetime show they put on back in 2006. That will never be duplicated (crowd, vibe, set) IMO
FYF Fest 8/27 - 8/28
Also, booking Atoms For Peace on the same day or even co-headlining would be perfect.
It appears that oasis 2008 did business enough warrant arenas in a handful of US markets. The Vancouver show I saw was 10,000 strong.
I still think the following 5 names would have to be doubled up on the top line: oasis/Bjork/Beck/Jack W/Yorke
Speaking of Yorke, if they book him in 2014 it would be 5 high profile visits to LA in 5 years:
AFP Coachella 2010
RH Haiti charity Fonda 2010
RH Coachella 2012
AFP Caochella 2014.
Isn't that Black Keys level oversaturation?
Well, obviously Black Keys oversaturation doesn't bother Goldenvoice so I don't think that really matters. I think Goldenvoice cares more about their availability than trying to be careful and not overdo Yorke in LA.
Actually, on second thought Red Hot Chili Peppers will be recording a new album starting in September and Atoms For Peace have several dates afterwards. Still, studio time could get in the way for Flea to do Atoms For Peace next year but who knows.
