One of my favorite discoveries yet.
One of my favorite discoveries yet.
You really should listen to one of their greatest hits collections -- most of their albums contain several brilliant songs alongside a number of forgettable ones. But the sheer number of brilliant tracks over time is remarkable.
Here's my top 10, in no particular order:
With All My Might
Rock n Roll People in a Disco World
The Number 1 Song in Heaven
Tips for Teens
Angst in My Pants
Pulling Rabbits Out of a Hat
All You Ever Think About Is Sex
Seen her perform with them at UC Irvine, also seen them play LA Street Scene. It will be so awesome to see them in the polo fields.
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
This needs to be higher. I pray there's no conflict with how to destroy angels. Seeing this name on the poster was the turning point for me.
10/21 The Paranoyds, The Molochs @ Non Plus Ultra, 11/21 Jhene Aiko @ Avalon, 11/22 Warpaint @ Observatory, 12/16-18 Day for Night
per Sparks Official they will be play "Two Hands One Mouth" at Coachella see below
Sparks release a 2 CD souvenir of their recent ‘Two Hands One Mouth’ European tour that saw the American brothers tour as a duo for the first time. With no band & no computers, Ron (two hands…on keyboards) and Russell (one mouth…on vocals) presented the very essence of Sparks and their extensive catalogue in a show of impact, energy and aggression. This unique performance is now available on what will be Sparks’ first live album.
Ron and Russell explain:
“This is the first ever official live recording of Sparks. The ‘Two Hands One Mouth’ tour in Europe, from which these recordings were taken (the tour continued in Japan and soon America), has been an exceptional experience for us and, judging by the reaction and feedback, also a memorable and emotional event for Sparks' fans. As a result, we want to celebrate the event with a souvenir for all Sparks' fans that captures this tour and the unique format of the performance. While we began the tour with certain fears of not having the safety net of a band or computers, we soon realized that the format was wildly successful (for us and for the audience) in highlighting in the purest form the core elements of what Sparks has always been--our musical world conveyed through our songs and our vocals and performed in a most aggressive way. What seemed to always set us apart was, we think, made emphatic in this format.
We don't consider this album as a substitute for Sparks' next studio recording, but rather as a special souvenir of an event that, as most Sparks fans will know, will most likely be followed by our moving in some different and, we hope, puzzling new direction. Until then, here is/are Two Hands One Mouth.”

Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.
Upcoming Shows: Spamalot (7/31), HARD (8/1) 2001 Space Odyssey with LA Phil (8/12), Opeth (10/18), TOOL (10/31), Coachella 2016 (WK1), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)
Well, the essence of the tracks is most definitely intact.
But I can't say this isn't disappointing.
Haha I love that description. Schedule permitting I will still try to see them, but after watch that video they have fallen out of must see list.

damn this is really good...and kinda funny...but in like a good way, not in like a Childish Gambino kinda way.
Cooler than a polar bears toenails.

The more I think about it, this is a serious contender for rarest US show on the entire bill. That article did imply some other US shows - we'll see. With the duo format they can travel dirt cheap and play shows they couldn't with a full band.
per their latest fb post:
(And for all Los Angeles fans, another Sparks standalone concert will be announced shortly. And more US dates to follow. Details soon.)
I'm going to also catch the LA gig but fuck I'm a bit disappointed. I want to rock the fuck out!
