Saturday has me all kinds of confused...
Main: Sigur Ros>Postal Service>xx>Phoenix ?!?
Outdoor: Violent Femmes>Grizzly Bear>Hot Chip>New Order ?!?
Saturday is f***ed up. Bat for Lashes (like a Florence & The Machine/Siouxie Sue hybrid if you've never heard her - she's rad), Spiritualized, and the legend Richie Hawtin also figure to play sometime after Sunset.
Assuming Saturday runs til 1, there are basically 4 slots allowing for 50-60 minutes with a 1/2 hour between - 7pm, 8:30pm, 10pm, 11:30pm. No idea how they'll be allocated, but I expect the XX to play against Sigur Ros, and Phoenix to play vs. New Order. Hopefully, the XX play against one of the other bands - Hot Chip, GB, or Postal Service, but I think that's less likely since the profile of the XX is higher now than it was in 2010 where they played a packed set on the Outdoor.
I'm guessing PS will get the Bright Eyes slot from a few years back - sunset/late afternoon on the main.
Saturday is going to be a huge mess of conflicts
Can someone explain to me why New Order isn't billed higher?
They are more popular in the U.S. than Blur and Stone Roses. At least they were more popular.

Peter Hook was touring last year while preforming the entirety of Unknown Pleasures so there's definitely bad blood between the two parties.
Wonder if Johnny Marr would come out and do an Electronic track with Bernard or vice versa? That would be insane if it happened!

I won't miss NO for anything. They are in my Top 5 must-sees. Still ticked I can't see them with Hooky after all these years because they're busy acting like pissy coonts.
Teenage Fanclub| Coachella| A Perfect Circle| A Perfect Circle| U2| Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
A must not miss, and for those who miss it, it will be like missing Suede in 2011, which was one of the best sets I have ever seen at Coachella; 05, 06, 08,09,10,11.
Peter Hook did a Q&A and talked a bit about his new book he wrote about the Joy Division years in Los Angeles the other day.
He called the recent decision by Bernard and the group to tour without him the most difficult thing to deal with in his musical career. Which says an awful lot having to also deal with Ian Curtis' suicide right before you are about to tour America.
He seemed open to reconciliation, although he said it's like someone asking if you and your ex wife will get back together during the height of your divorce. The ball is in Bernard's court but he seems to be happy touring without Hooky.

here is a 45 min concert live in berlin, from 2012
One of the top 5 performances I'm looking forward to this year. Just really wish they wouldn't play any Joy Division song. I like JD, but I don't need to hear Bernard or anybody else singing those songs.
I've been a die hard New Order fan since childhood. I've never seen them and I can't wait!
My question is:
Is it better to see them without Hooky because he's being such a douche, or would that angry energy between them make for a good performance?
Back off war child.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)

Already my #1 act of Saturday and that video has been even more excited
Thanks for posting it
Thanks for the video. Very cool version of Temptation. It had the intro of Lou Reed's Street Hassle. I think New Order takes priority on Sat.
