I'm sure someone already mentioned this but YYY's and How to Destroy Angels both playing same day. The possibility of a nasty live performance of their Immigrant Song cover would be very tasty indeed.

Hey, so when is the lineup coming out? I've been listening to KROQ all day! I bet it comes out tomorrow. Daft Punk, here we come!
I love this lineup!!!
I am pretty sure I am going to run into conflicts all weekend long. Every single day is pretty stacked for me.
I think it's more because this will be the 3rd time they have played Coachella in 10 years and it seems like a very lazy booking. Also, they have played virtually every other festival or city last year so everyone has seen them before. There is nothing new or exciting about a RHCP show. They still are a great band, but with all of the bands out there to choose from to headline and close Coachella, why choose RHCP?

It's funny how everything was roses when we held on to the guns.
I think the fact that this 'Awesome" thread is only 3 pages and the "Sucks" thread is 10 pages says a lot about the whiney little bitches on this board.

I'm fucked on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is more open but I haven't done any research yet.
This is clearly a lineup for music fans (save for RHCP and Phoenix) and not the shitty LA-bro/cheesedick-candy-raver crowd that they've been pulling the last few years. I think it's fantastic.
St Vincent| St Vincent| The Killers| QotSA| BRMC| Jack White| Shopping| Weezer| Coachella| Greta Van Fleet| A Perfect Circle| Cigarettes After Sex| Courtney Barnett| Editors| Franz Ferdinand| U2| U2| Peter Hook & The Light| GY!BE| Johnny Marr| A Place To Bury Strangers| Roger Waters| The Cure| ELO| ELO| David Byrne| David Byrne| Phoenix| Courtney Barnett
Watched the news ever?
Negative goes much further than positive.
Not to.mention that most people that do lime the lineup will spend more time defending it in the hate thread than the haters qill spend blasting it in this one.
Not to mention the quality of the people bitching is generallh negligable.
The main reason why I don't watch the news is because it is filled with negativity and fear.

Can someone just put a brief list of who will clash on the top 3 lines please?
New this year so.
From what people want to see I'm guessing Jurassic 5 are heading the outdoor stage friday?
saturday I'm not sure.
sunday, seems like nick cave is clashing with RHCP
There is no "hard and fast" rule, but usually the top 3 bands on a given day (SR/Blur/YYYs, Phoenix/xx/Postal, and RHCP/Nick Cave/VW) will play in reverse order on the main stage (#3 --> #2 --> #1). From there on it is more difficult. Usually only 4 highly billed acts, at most, will play the main, with the others on the outdoor theater, and sometimes Mojave. The DJs will (almost) always play the Sahara tent, which is all electronic and will loosely be scheduled according to billing, the lowest billed playing the earliest and the highest billed at night. Usually the #2 or #3 billed DJ will close out the Sahara against the headliner, with the #1 going against the sub-headliner.
And then sometimes they throw rap collectives in the Sahara, the most popular buzz band in the Gobi at 5, and an act nobody cares about in a prime outdoor spot. It is pretty impossible to predict. Genres do not usually conflict (no rap vs. rap) and usually big reunions will not go against the headliner.
I like to see a whole set rather than a half of this and a half of that.
And I'm going to have to see almost all the acts at 6-10 pm on every stage!
But I'm going only one weekend. I am fucked!
Give me the damn set times already!

Great lineup, the undercard is stacked (which means many a conflict) but much more of a good thing than bad.

This is my first Coachella, but I've been trying for the last 3 years, which I'm bummed about missing....but...I couldn't ask for a better first time lineup.
Honestly, I'm really stoked to see blur. A band I was too young to be able to see in their prime, yet have grown up loving & respecting.
