    Default Steely Dan

Was completely thrown off by this booking, but I totally welcome it.

On a lineup with so few great acts, this would be criminal.

I have faith that they will schedule this wisely and put it against a bunch of basic bullshit.

All I can do is think about George Carlin when I see their name.

Glad Goldenvoice booked them, but I'm willing to be a really poor turnout for them.

    I'd bet the main goes

I had heard it many times on classic rock stations through the years, but I didn't know until a year or two ago that the 'smile for a camera' song is called 'Peg'.

If I were going to Coachella this year, I'd see Steely Dan, if only for the hits.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

What's so bad about "Reeling in the Years"? I kinda like that song. Really interested in this. Hope I don't have to miss Todd Terje or Ride or Squarepusher or Jon Hopkins though it is probably inevitable...

Outdoor may be more comfortable for them, maybe sundown slot. On the main stage there might be 2,000 ACDC nuts camped out for a couple sets.

Plus if it's a modest turn out for 'Dan on the main, like Faith No More/Stone Roses, then the crowd would be more comfortable at the Outdoor.

I'd be into that. I was also totally surprised by this booking, but it was a pleasant surprise. Sundown would be perfect! I'm hoping half the festival goers are in the EDM tents this year and never leave.
I arrived in America's airport with clothings, US dollars, and a jar of gypsy tears to protect me from AIDS.

Not that their music is particularly similar, but I'd have to imagine there's a fair amount of crossover between Steely and AC. Steely -> Tame -> AC/DC makes too much sense.

Saw them at the Forum on a whim this past August. Fagen's voice is pretty shot but they can still play. They'll get an hour and bring the hits, for sure. My hope is they close the Outdoor.
I have been to concerts. I will go to concerts in the future.

I want to see them but I feel like it's almost inevitable that they'll conflict with someone I want to see more. I'm not going to pass up someone I'm genuinely stoked for like Ride just to take a romp through the nostalgia fields. If things line up time-wise though I'll totally be there.

For some reason this makes perfect sense following Chromeo last year.

Reeling is not in their top 10. Deacon Blues, Do It Again, Boddhisaltva, FM, Peg, Dirty Work, Aja, Dr. Wu, Kid Charlemagne, Josie, Babylon Sisters, My Old School and my all-timer, Rikki are better. Looks like Do It Again, Deacon and FM are out of the current rotation, though.

Outdoor at sunset would be my vote. Or even late afternoon, as it would be good way to sit and chill out for a bit.
