CoCoRosie has a new album coming out this Fall 2015. It's said to be somewhat resemblant of their first, and best album 'La Maison de Mon Reve' -- which was highly organic and consisted of very minimal instruments including the harp, select percussion instruments, old toys, and a 4-track raw and rusty sound, altogether creating a very raw and eerie, but beautifully poetic album which was recorded in their Paris' apartment bathroom. In my opinion, their signature and by far their best sound. Not many people understand CocoRosie. Most of their fans are blinded by their song titles and recent experimentation with electronic influences, as their sound has come a long way by reinventing themselves and their sounds with every album. but I miss the dingy, eerie, psychedelic, "freak folk" sound (as critics called). I'm all about highly experimental dark music. The Casady Sisters are by far one of the most influential groups in music history, as they've won appraisal and great critical claim from music critics all over the world, allowing them perform their music, as well as dark operas with live symphony orchestras in the world's most prestigious halls and venues. but most importantly here is that they are returning to their original raw, but flowery poetic sounds that I believe defines them at their best. From the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard, to the most creative visual installations and the best video art/projections I've ever seen by far, I would love to see CocoRosie return to Coachella. Check out their first two albums, 'La Maison de Mon Reve' and 'Noah's Ark' (which are their most all-around creative albums) -- any album after that has been professionally produced and are far more polished in sound, which takes away from everything i love about them. However, their creativity in all mediums I continue to respect because of my strong love for them. Also, on YouTube it isn't hard to find plenty of their eerie and old raw tracks that are unreleased. Some suggestions include; Ohio, Dizzy dog, goldrush, Horse Porno, Hairnet Paradise, Left Hand Shoe, Fatherhood, Childhood, Haylofts, etc. as you'll find many tracks. Also, check out Bianca Casady's solo work, especially one of her newly released songs, 'Tumbleweed' and listen to Sierra Casady's side project with Matteah Baim, '(the) Metallic Falcons' -- Album name: Desert Doughnuts. It's desert, ghost metal. Very dreamy and eerie desert goth. As you continue to search, you'll find so much and I encourage you to read up on these sisters and watch interviews and/or whatever you can find on YouTube. Read articles. They're nothing short of brilliant!
