For the first time since 2003, the event did not sell out, although it featured headliners Prince, Roger Waters, and Jack Johnson, along with notable rare appearances from Portishead, the reunited The Verve, M.I.A., Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, the reunited Love and Rockets, and the reunited Swervedriver. Another noteworthy performance during the 2008 Coachella festival was that of singer/songwriter Adele.
Adele cancelled a couple weeks after she was added to the line up.

08' was so good I forgot she even cancelled. Long live 08'.
I remember sitting on the grass backstage with this fat redhead's butt almost in face and how I really wanted to lean forward and just bite it. Now after years of wondering, I am starting to think that probably wasn't Adele.
Yeah Paul, for her first album. Only reason I remember is because I had a ticket to her show at the roxy. I had to sell it last minute because of my college graduation or something to do with that. I wasn't too bummed, but now I mean it would have been nice.
I wasn't feeling 'Skyfall' in the least with her unpassioned white girl side-to-side performance last night. Meanwhile, Shirley Bassey blew the house down on 'Goldfinger'. The highlight of the entire show.
