I went ahead and got the sponsored hotel, the Hyatt Regency N'Awlins. I'm not crazy about the location, but after suffering a few bad hotel experiences in the Big Easy, I'm choosing comfort over cost.

Unpredictable. We usually get our first cool front around the beginning of October. Until the cool weather settles in for good, it'll be in the upper 80's, muggy as hell's steam room, with an afternoon shower/downpour likely in the afternoon. in the evening it'll be southern sweater weather, 70's and balmy. Unless the cool weather takes a hold that week....

Not really. It was a creepy shit hole before Katrina, it's still creepy shit hole now. Katrina only helped it out a little.

I haven't slept in city park since back when I was homeless in the 90's. The only real danger then as it is now is the NOPD. Don't fuck with them. Also, everyone steals here. Just accept that. If your shit gets stolen in NOLA, you are to blame. Its best to have ratty looking shit, so they steal your neighbors shit instead of yours, or make it too cumbersome to make off with. Otherwise, camping is close, if you can handle camping at Roo, you can handle camping at Voodoo.

The Roo is an easy camp to me, so sounds like ok. I don't like where we have to park our car "somewhere", who knows, then trek our stuff in. That's how Coachella was one time for me. I spent many a night in the Qtr camping but that was b4 you were born I think, so it has changed a bit eh ...Tnx for the info... cr****

I'm a bit worried actually, this area has always been a big swampy part of the park. Plenty of trees and grass though.

We had a hookup with a a vacation rental place for crazy cheap, but it fell through. The regular price for the place is $325 a night for a 4 bedroom place. Pretty choked because it was originally going to cost us that much for the whole weekend. We might still take it for regular price, but we're going to look around a bit more.

Any chance you're willing to share the name of a rental outfit in NOLA that you've found to be reliable? I wouldn't mind pursuing this option as well (don't worry, I'm not looking for 4BR, so I won't be jumping your rental), but reliability of the rental companies seems to be less than stellar.

Stage announcements September 6 last year. Can't find the interim date when all acts were announced. August? I know they ran REALLY late last year with getting anything out.

The sky is blue due primarily to Oxygen and Nitrogen in the air scattering blue light more than they scatter red light.

HA! Thanks a lot.......... been looking for a voodoo forum for some more info. I am happy with the line-up as is and can't believe there will be more added. NOLA is a Mecca for music. By the way, this place is answering all my questions. Totally Down with the Coachella Boards!

They've also got some good stories in voodoo past as well as info on the new area of the park. We have other more unique outlets but Nola is how everyone gets the local word out first.
