Didn't notice anyone mention Indians' album Somewhere Else. Not groundbreaking but a unique blend of styles that is an affecting and haunting album with very few meandering low points.

I'm on my second listen of Jim James 's Regions of Light and Sound of God and I have to it is pretty good to point where I am very tempted to go see the his show now. Also what a terrible name for a album.
So the new Prince tracks are fucking amazing. I love them.
Om'mas Keith finally put out his album for free online about a week ago. If you're unfamiliar with the name he was a major contributor to Channel Orange and a member of the group Sa-Ra. The album is called City Pulse and it's quite good. Very funky and flashy. Equal parts poppy and weird. His production and ear for melodies is impeccable. It almost sounds like something that Parliament/Funkadelic might put out if they were still making music in 2013. Highly recommended. But fair warning: if you despise auto-tune this album probably isn't for you.

The Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album is absolutely devastating me right now. I mean that in the best way possible. Wow.
Anyone think there's a possibility he'll have strings for his Coachella performance? seeing as a handful of the songs feature strings rather prominently. Probably just wishful thinking.
New Autechre is great.

So was watching Chelsea Lately last night, only because Dave Grohl is hosting this week. He had Elton John on and Sir Elton dropped the bomb that he is on the forthcoming QOTSA album. Holy shit, even more anticipation for this thing now. Release date soon please. Please.
I think Queens releasing all of those albums in quick succession made even big fans take them for granted. They are going to benefit greatly from the time they were gone. Plus, in my opinion anyway, the next big thing in (rock) music is going to be melodic metal, and they're going to be a big act on this new wave of releases in the next year or two. And Baroness is going to be the next big thing with their next release.

The new Unknown Mortal Orchestra is excellent. The new Nick Cave bored me to tears. I do not have 2 hours to spend to see why you are all jizzing about Autechre.

11/21 - Pearl Jam - Viejas Arena
Yeah what the fuck. That is a sub-genre that has been producing some extremely enjoyable albums and a community of bands that are consistently very good.
