Dismemberment Plan is the same night. Shitty conflict. #laproblems
Edit: Sush I might do that too if I can win tickets for the El Rey show.
HIGH ON FIRE IS SO GOOD THOUGH. I didn't even know that show was happening. Must go.
12/10/15 - Kamasi Washington @ Club Nokia // 12/12/15 - HEALTH @ Teragram Ballroom // 12/19/15 - Pity Sex @ Echo // 2/13/15 - Black Sabbath @ Mandalay Bay Events Center

My expectations weren't terribly high, but damn, this is GREAT. I still feel bad for those that missed Cut Copy's 2011 set.
I'll have to revisit Zonoscope but hot damn, listening to that stream left me in a state of euphoria. I don't know if any other album has so immediately ravaged me this year. Will pick up a CD copy.
Should make for a great first time seeing them, whenever they come around next.
I got to see Cut Copy later that year at Pitchfork. 'Twas a fun dance party.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
I've had time to listen to Cut Copy a few times and it is great. I listened while I was at work and was instantly put in a good mood. I know that it will just get better and better on more listens. I'll get to see them in 2 weeks, which makes me even more excited about this new album.
Also, Wenu Wenu by Omar Souleyman is a beast. I couldn't sit still while I was listening at work. I'm even more disappointed about not getting to see him at FYF.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
I wasn't sure how I'd like this new Midlake album Antiphon seeing the lead singer left the band (and to be honest with ya, I never really listened to the last one) but I am really enjoying what I am hearing so far and the vocal harmonies are still brilliant.
Side note, I remember in 2005 laying in the back of the Gobi when these guys played not having any clue who they were. One of the most memorable "discoveries" from all my Coachella years.

Check out Sleeping is Giving in for great mixes and other cool stuff
I've only listened to it once but I'm really liking Arcade Fire's Reflektor. It reminds me of the song Sprawl II of their last album. Lots of African drums combined with some nice synths. The songs sound happier than their other albums but the lyrics are just like their other stuff if not better. You can definitely tell James Murphy helped them out with this album. I'll have to listen to it a lot more to make my final analysis but I'm enjoying it for the time being.

Also, new Cut Copy album is brilliant. SO stoked on seeing them tomorrow!
Really surprised no one is talking about Gesaffelstein's Aleph yet. I'm about 3/4 through the album and absolutely loving what I'm hearing so far.
Like Zonoscope, I think this album is a bit of a grower...It takes me a while to differentiate their songs, but just like any other Cut Copy album, it's a party. I think Cut Copy does a good job with moving out of comfort zones or whatever mode they were in making the previous record. I notice that there are more synth "noises" and other sounds they were messing around with a lot more this time around. Really excited to catch them in Portland on Friday...probably my favorite band to catch live.
I loved the new Cut Copy on first listen(Footsteps especially). Zonoscope took a while to grow on me, but it's actually my favorite now.
I've never listened to Los Campesinos! before but their new album is really fucking good. I usually don't like super poppy bands but they just make you feel really nice inside.
Holy shit. The new Mutual Benefit. If you like Real Estate-esque melodies, this is for you. And it pulls them off much better in my opinion, the most sonically gorgeous album I've heard all year. I remember listening to a really great single they came out with a couple years ago and was wondering when they'd put out a full length. Listen to it.
EDIT: I also grouped it so it's in there..

I haven't listened to a ton of post metal... but the new Pelican record is pretty rad. Excited to see them next week.
I'm jealous, I'm digging the new Pelican a lot and would loooove to see them live.
The new Cut Copy is good after a first listen. Their albums *always* take a few front-to-back spins to really reveal themselves, though. It didn't seem quite as catchy as their past material, I'm sure the hooks are there though. And they do hooks better than anyone in the genre, in my book.
Arcade Fire's live show REALLY opened up the album to me. I can't get enough of it, now. So good. The hate directed to it is ridiculous, too; is it just because Reflektor became a radio hit?
